Bonjah
Bonjah were a four-piece band based in Melbourne, Australia. ''Bonjah'' was formed in 2006 in Tauranga New Zealand by Glenn Mossop, Regan Lethbridge, David Morgan, and Dan Chisholm. The band's tours include Japan, England, Germany, New Zealand and have toured Australia extensively through numerous national tours. The group have been nominated for various awards and supported major artists such as The Who, G Love & special Sauce, The Beautiful Girls, Paul Kelly, Raggamuffin, Arrested Development, The Black Seeds, Trinity Roots, Eskimo Joe. Most commonly known for their blues roots element of music the group have progressively moved towards a soulful rock infused style which is evident in the 2011 Go Go Chaos album. Pyramid Rock Festival
The Pyramid Rock Festival was an Australian New Year's Eve camp-out rock music festival at Ventnor on Phillip Island. The original festival in 2004 was organised by local resident, Angus Cameron, and his two cousins. History Beginning as a single day, from its second year it was run over two nights with two stages – the Main Stage, and the Pharaoh's Annex. The Main Stage hosted the major local and international acts, while the Pharaoh's Annex featured lesser-known local acts, and in the later evening, the more dance-oriented acts of the festival. There was also a variety of market stalls. With declining attendees that stemmed from the embarrassing failure at the 2009/2010 festival to perform a New Year countdown and the last-minute cancellation of numerous acts, the festival was shelved for 2013 and as of September that year its promoters were "exploring options for the festival to return in 2014". Moomba (also known as the Moomba Festival) is held annually in Melbourne, Australia. Run by the City of Melbourne, it is Australia's largest free community festival. Raggamuffin music, usually abbreviated as ragga, is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music. Similar to hip hop, sampling often serves a prominent role in raggamuffin music. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is generally recognized as the seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists.
