The Bondi United Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1946 and is an Australian rugby league football club based in Bondi, New South Wales. The club is affiliated with the Sydney Roosters Juniors but they play in the South Sydney District Junior Rugby Football League. South Sydney District Junior Rugby Football League
The South Sydney District Junior Rugby Football League is an affiliation of junior clubs in the South Sydney area. History Turf wars When the South Sydney Rabbitohs first entered the NSWRL competition as South Sydney in 1908, Souths would become neighbours to fellow city counterpart, the Eastern Suburbs Roosters. Anzac Parade separated the territories for both inner-Sydney clubs when the boundaries were first established the previous year. Souths' boundaries were based on the municipalities of Redfern, Botany, Alexandria, Mascot and Waterloo, while the Roosters' boundaries were those of the eastern municipalities of Paddington, Woollahra, Vaucluse, Randwick and Waverley. The new junior league boundaries set out in the early 1950s would take territory away from the Roosters, and hand it over to rival neighbouring club South Sydney. Tom Symonds
Tom Symonds (born 17 February 1989) is an Australian professional rugby league player who last played for the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League. He previously played for the Sydney Roosters and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Playing career Early career Symonds was born in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia. He played his junior rugby league for Bondi United and the Clovelly Crocodiles, whilst attending Marcellin College Randwick before being signed by the Sydney Roosters. Sydney Roosters He played for the Roosters' NYC team in 2008 and 2009, scoring 8 tries in 29 games. In round 11 of the 2009 NRL season Symonds made his NRL debut for the Roosters against the Penrith Panthers. Kevin Junee
Kevin Junee is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played as a in the 1960s and 1970s. An Australian international and New South Wales interstate representative back, he played his club football in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership for Sydney teams Eastern Suburbs and Manly-Warringah. Family Kevin is the father of Australian dual code rugby league and rugby union player Darren Junee who also played rugby league for the Eastern Suburbs club between 1995 and 1998. Career Junee played all his junior football with Eastern Suburbs, breaking into the top grade in 1964 - the bleakest period in the club's history, winning just 2 matches that year and just 3 more in the following two. Johnny Mayes
Johnny Mayes (born 29 April 1947) is an Australian former rugby league halfback who represented Australia in the 1975 World Cup. He also played in three consecutive premiership-winning teams from 1973 to 1975, the first for Manly-Warringah and the latter two for Eastern Suburbs. His feat of playing in three consecutive premiership sides for different clubs is comparable only with Glenn Lazarus in the early 1990s for Canberra and the Brisbane Broncos, who played in four premiership sides between 1989 and 1993. John Peard
John "Bomber" Peard (born 15 January 1945) is an Australian former rugby league footballer and later coach. An Australian international and New South Wales representative , he played for the Eastern Suburbs, St George and Parramatta NSWRFL clubs in the 1960s and 1970s. Peard's nickname, 'Bomber', came from his revolutionary towering punt kick, popularly referred to as a bomb, which terrorised opposition players, especially the s and ers they were aimed at. It has now become a common feature of the modern game. Playing career Peard played in Eastern Suburbs lower grades before making his 1st grade debut in 1966. That year the Easts failed to win a game. Ian Rubin
Ian Rubin (born 17 April 1973) is a former Russia national rugby league team, Russia international rugby league footballer who played as a forward in the 1990s and 2000s. He played the majority of his professional career in the National Rugby League for the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs clubs. Rubin also played on several occasions for his adopted country of Russia, including four appearances as captain of the Russia national rugby league team, Russian national team at the 2000 Rugby League World Cup, 2000 World Cup after qualifying to play for them via the grandparent rule. Luke James Charles Towers (born 18 June 1988) is an Australian cricketer who previously played for Western Australia as an opening batsman. Originally from Bunbury, he made his first-class debut for the Warriors in February 2009 following consistent performances for his club side Melville and carrying his bat in making 143 not out for the WA Second XI against the Queensland Academy of Sport. He made his List A debut in October 2009. He made his maiden first-class century in December 2009, scoring a chanceless 124 against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval. The Sydney Combined Competition (SCC) formerly Inner City Combined Competition (ICCC) is an amateur rugby league competition for both senior and junior rugby league clubs in the St. George, Canterbury-Bankstown, Balmain, Western Suburbs and Eastern Suburbs areas of Sydney. Matthew Elliott (rugby League)
Matthew Elliott (born 8 December 1964) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach, commentator and former player. He has previously coached in the NRL with the Canberra Raiders, Penrith Panthers and the New Zealand Warriors, as well the Bradford Bulls in the Super League and the United States national team. Elliott is currently the Assistant Coach at the St. George Illawarra Dragons. Playing career Born on Thursday Island, Elliott grew up in Townsville in far north Queensland. Elliott played for Bondi United and was an Eastern Suburbs Roosters lower grade player. He played two seasons with French club, Le Pontet, winning the league and cup double in 1987-88. Between 1989 and 1992 Elliott played 61 games for the St. George Dragons.
