Bombaj Štampa
Bombaj Štampa ( en, Bombay Press) is a Bosnian pop-rock group from Sarajevo dating formed in 1982. It, together with Zabranjeno Pušenje and Elvis J. Kurtović & His Meteors, participated in creating a new movement known as New Primitivism in Ex-Yugoslavia. The group was founded by guitarist Nedim Babović in 1982, but initially never had a stable lineup and therefore didn't perform much. In May 1983, aspiring actor Branko Đurić who sang with SCH joined the band. One of their early hits was the football chant "Željo to je moj tim" (" Zeljo, that's my team"). Bombaj Štampa was not active from 1992 till 2008. In December 2008, group members reunited for a concert in Sarajevo featuring original guitarist Nedim Babović and drummer Dragan Bajić along with bassist Ernie Mendillo (The Brandos). Branko Đurić
Branko Đurić ( sh-Cyrl, Бранко Ђурић; born 28 May 1962), also known by his nickname Đuro (Cyrillic: Ђуро), is a Bosnian actor, comedian, film director and musician, who lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Born and raised in Sarajevo, Đurić rose to prominence throughout Yugoslavia with the hit comedy series ''Top lista nadrealista'' during the 1980s. Đuro became something of an epitome for the Bosnian people, primarily due to his accent and slang. He was also one of the founding members of SCH and the frontman of the award-winning Sarajevo rock band Bombaj Štampa. Zenica ( ; ; ) is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and an administrative and economic center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Zenica-Doboj Canton. It is located in the Bosna river valley, about north of Sarajevo. The city is known for its Ironworks Zenica factory but also as a significant university center. According to the 2013 census, the settlement of Zenica itself counts 70,553 citizens and the administrative area 110,663. The Brandos
The Brandos are an American rock band formed in 1985 in New York City by Dave Kincaid (vocals, guitar), Ernie Mendillo (bass, vocals), Ed Rupprecht (guitar, vocals) and Larry Mason (drums, vocals). The Brandos achieved commercial success in the United States in 1987 with the release of their first album, '' Honor Among Thieves'' and the single "Gettysburg." They have also established a strong fan base in Europe, where they have done promotion and extensive touring since the late 1980s. They have occasionally made it high on the record charts in countries such as the Netherlands. SCH (band)
SCH (an abbreviation for "Schizophrenia") is the musical and artistic project and band (or rather the ''band- alterego'') of Senad Hadžimusić, who is better known by his nickname ''Teno''. Formed in the early-eighties in Sarajevo, the band has had an intensive creative and live existence. SCH represents one of the most significant names in the field of alternative rock music in the former Yugoslavia. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe. New Primitives
New Primitivism (Serbo-Croatian: Novi primitivizam) was a subcultural movement established in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia-Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in March 1983. It primarily used music, along with satire, sketch and surreal comedy on radio and television, as its form of expression. Its protagonists and followers called themselves the New Primitives. Functioning as a banner that summarizes and encompasses the work of two rock bands Zabranjeno Pušenje and Elvis J. Ernie Mendillo
Ernie Mendillo (born October 23, 1959) is an American musician who co-founded the New York band The Brandos with Dave Kincaid in 1985. He left the band in 2015. Besides playing with The Brandos, Mendillo was also a member of the Sarajevo rock band Bombaj Štampa. He is currently a member of HELP! A Beatles Tribute, performing concerts throughout Europe. Nikša Bratoš (born 17 August 1959 in Travnik, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, PR Bosnia and Herzegovina, FPR Yugoslavia) is a Bosnian musician. He is known for having played in bands Valentino and Crvena jabuka. He has worked on songs for a variety of Croatian pop artists. Biography Bratoš was born in 1959, and graduated from the University of Electronics in Sarajevo in 1985. He played guitar and sang backup vocals in Valentino before transitioning into Crvena jabuka.
