Bohdan Beniuk
Bohdan Beniuk ( uk, Богдан Михайлович Бенюк; born 26 May 1957) is a Ukrainian actor of theater and cinema, politician, People's Artist of Ukraine (1996). Along with Anatoliy Khostikoiev, he is a creator of the Theatrical company Beniuk and Khostikoiev. Biography Beniuk was born on May 26, 1957, in town of Bytkiv, Nadvirna Raion, Ukrainian SSR. He has two brothers: People's Artist of Ukraine Petro Beniuk and Vasyl Beniuk. Bohdan Beniuk graduated the National University of Theatre, Film and TV in Kyiv in 1978. In 1978-80 he worked in the Kyiv theater of young viewer. After that, Beniuk was an actor of the Franko National Academic Drama Theater in Kyiv. Since February 2018, Professor Bohdan Beniuk has been the head of the Department of Acting and Drama Directing at the Karpenko-Kary National University of Kyiv. 2019 Ukrainian Parliamentary Election
Snap elections to the Ukrainian parliament were held on 21 July 2019. Originally scheduled to be held at the end of October, these elections were brought forward after newly inaugurated President of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dissolved parliament on 21 May 2019, during his inauguration. The election result was the one-party majority, a novelty in Ukraine, for President Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party with 254 seats. About 80 percent of the elected candidates were new to parliament; 83 deputies managed to get reelected from 8th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, the previous parliament and 13 deputies from earlier convocations. All deputies from Servant of the People were political newcomers. 61 percent of the new MPs had never before been engaged in politics. The Order of Merit ( uk, Орден «За заслуги») (Distinguished service) first, second or third class, is the Ukrainian order of merit, given to individuals for outstanding achievements in economics, science, culture, military or political spheres of activity.
