Dice 10,000 (or 10000, 10,000 Dice, Ten Grand) also Greed, Dix Mille, 5-Dice is the name of a family dice game played with 6 dice, it is similar or identical to the commercialized Farkle. It also goes by other names, including Zilch, Zilchers, Foo, Boxcar, Bogus, Zach’s Dice Game, and Crap Out. Scoring These are the base methods of scoring: * Single ''fives'' are worth 50 points * Single ''ones'' are worth 100 points * Three of a kind are worth 100 points times the number rolled, except for three ''ones'' which are worth 1000 points * If four, five, or six of a kind are rolled, each additional dice doubles the amount of dice previously rolled. Farkle, or Farkel, is a dice game similar to or synonymous with 1000/5000/10000, Cosmic Wimpout, Greed, Hot Dice, Squelch, Zilch, or Zonk. Its origins as a folk game are unknown, but the game dates back to at least the mid-1980s. It has been marketed commercially since 1996 under the brand name Pocket Farkel by Legendary Games Inc. While the basic rules are well-established, there is a wide range of variation in both scoring and play. ''Cosmic Wimpout'' is a dice game produced by C3, Inc in 1976. It is similar to 1000/5000/10000, Farkle, Greed, Hot Dice, Squelch, Zilch, to name but a few. The game is played with five custom dice, and may use a combination score board and rolling surface, in the form of a piece of cloth or felt available in various colors and designs. Players supply their own game piece for score keeping. The game of ''Cosmic Wimpout'' has often been associated with the Berkeley area, the Grateful Dead, and other free-form subcultures. An annual tournament takes place at the Green River Festival in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Gameplay The five Cosmic Wimpout dice are referred to as "cubes". Four of the cubes have face values of "two swirls", "three triangular glyphs", "four lightning bolts", "the number 5", "six stars", and "the number 10" - the fifth cube, often a different colour, has a single "flaming sun" icon in place of the three triangular glyphs.
