Bogra-7 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2019 by independent politician Rezaul Karim Bablu. Boundaries The constituency encompasses Gabtali Upazila, Gabtali and Shajahanpur Upazila, Shajahanpur upazilas. History The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. Ahead of the 2008 Bangladeshi general election, 2008 general election, the Bangladesh Election Commission, Election Commission redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the 2001 Bangladesh census. The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency. Habibur Rahman (Bogra Politician)
Habibur Rahman (4 February 1931 – 11 May 2002) was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the member of parliament for Bogra-7 and Bogra-1. Birth and early life Habibur Rahman was born in Bogra District. Career Habibur Rahman was elected to parliament from Bogra-7 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1979. He was elected to parliament from Bogra-1 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1991, February 1996 and June 1996. He was a Member of the 3rd National Assembly of Pakistan representing Bogra-II. Death Habibur Rahman died on 11 May 2002. Gabtali Upazila
Gabtali ( bn, গাবতলী, Gabtoli) is an upazila of the Bogra District, located in Bangladesh's Rajshahi Division. It is named after its administrative centre, the town of Gabtali and is best known as the home upazila of Ziaur Rahman, the late President of Bangladesh. Gabtali town is 7 km north of Bogra. Etymology There are numerous theories on how Gabtali got its name. According to Najmul Huda, the history of the naming of this place is unknown and possible theories are mere folklore. In the ''Gabtali Fables'' by Mubarak Ali Akhand, he mentions an incident which took place in circa 1932 when he was 10–12 years old. It was the day of Eid and the Dakshinpara villagers, including Akhand, set off to offer prayers in the Madhyapara eidgah. Khaleda Zia
Khaleda Zia (; born Khaleda Khanam Putul in 1945) is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from March 1991 to March 1996, and again from June 2001 to October 2006.
