Bob Richards (musician)
Bob Richards is a Welsh-born drummer, best known for his tenures in the bands Man and Asia. In the early 1990s, Richards played in Adrian Smith's solo band during his time out of Iron Maiden. Richards later had Smith record a guitar solo on his current cover band's first album. Richards is endorsed by Paiste cymbals and Agner drum sticks from his time with Smith. From 1997 to 2008, he played with Man and appeared on five albums: ''Endangered Species'', '' Down Town Live'', '' Undrugged'', '' Diamonds and Coal'' and '' Kingdom of Noise''. In 2014, Richards worked with AC/DC when he filled in for the long-term drummer Phil Rudd during his trial and appeared in several music videos. Richards currently tours and records with the Welsh rock band, Buck & Evans. Man (band)
Man is a rock band from Wales. Formed in November 1968 as a reincarnation of the Welsh vocal group the Bystanders, Man is renowned for the extended jams during their live performances. The Bystanders Man evolved out of the Bystanders, a successful close harmony pop group from Merthyr Tydfil who played in numerous club residencies in Wales, often playing at several clubs a night. The Bystanders issued eight singles, including " 98.6" (No. 45 in UK Singles Chart in February 1967) which was played in the 2009 film ''The Boat That Rocked'' (although Keith's version was the bigger hit, reaching No. 24 in the UK) and "When Jesamine Goes", written by their manager Ronnie Scott and Marty Wilde under the pseudonyms of Frere Manston and Jack Gellar, which was later covered by the Casuals as "Jesamine" and got to No. 2 on the UK chart. Alan Niven
Alan Niven is a New Zealand-born band manager best known for his tenure as manager of Guns N' Roses and Great White. Biography Niven became the manager of Guns N' Roses, serving from 1986 to 1991. He was fired from his post just prior to the release of ''Use Your Illusion''. According to a 1991 cover story by ''Rolling Stone'' magazine, frontman Axl Rose forced the dismissal of Niven (against the wishes of some of his band-mates) by refusing to complete the albums until he was replaced. Tony Mills (musician)
Anthony Paul Mills (7 July 1962 – 18 September 2019) was an English rock singer, best known for his work with Shy and TNT. Early life and career Mills was born in Birmingham. In 1983 he joined the band Shy. He recorded eight albums with the AOR/glam metal band, including the '' Excess All Areas''. He also toured with Shy, supporting Gary Moore, Meatloaf, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Magnum, Manowar, Badlands, Enuff Z Nuff, Sleeze Beez, UFO, and the Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson outfit with whom he performed on stage in Brighton, just prior to Ronson's death. Mikel Japp
Michael C Japp (15 November 1952 – 31 January 2012) was a Welsh musician and songwriter. Japp joined May Fisher, a Llanelli-based band, just before it was taken up by a London rock and pop music agency – through a friend who went on to establish 3PR – and sent on an extended and successful tour of Yugoslavia under a new name: Thank You. On their return, Thank You supported Joe Brown's Browns Home Brew and Marmalade on UK tours, as well as playing leading university and college dates. His aggressive, abrupt rock guitar style was first captured on recordings made by Joe Brown at his Essex recording studio. These were never released due to apparent difficulties in finding a vocal style from the band's two singers. Japp had, however, made a strong impression on Marmalade and was invited to join the group to replace Hugh Nicolson. Paul Chapman (musician)
Paul William Chapman (9 June 1954 – 9 June 2020) was a Welsh rock guitarist best known for his work in bands such as UFO and Lone Star. He was well known by his nickname "Tonka", allegedly acquired because of his indestructible qualities. Early career Chapman's first notable band was the Welsh outfit Universe. Chapman then joined Skid Row in December 1971 replacing Gary Moore as guitarist. His tenure was fairly short and only lasted until July 1972. His next band was Kimla Taz, with whom he was guitarist from December 1972 to May 1974. Chapman first joined UFO in 1974 as a second guitarist to augment their live sound having answered an advert in UK's music paper, ''Melody Maker''. He auditioned at the Unity Theatre in London. Although Chapman did not record an album during this period, he did join in time to tour and promote the ''Phenomenon'' album. Andy Fairweather Low
Andrew Fairweather Low (born 2 August 1948) is a Welsh guitarist and singer. He was a founding member and lead singer of 1960s pop band Amen Corner (band), Amen Corner, and in recent years has toured extensively with Roger Waters, Eric Clapton and Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. Professional Career Fairweather Low was born in Ystrad Mynach, Wales, to working-class parents. The family, including his two brothers, lived in an "unheated council house" on an estate; his father, a road sweeper, was unable to afford a car. Fairweather Low's first opportunity to play guitar came when he took a Saturday job at a music shop in Cardiff. He achieved fame as a founding member of the pop group Amen Corner (band), Amen Corner in the late 1960s. David William Edmunds (born 15 April 1944) is a Welsh singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer. Although he is mainly associated with pub rock and new wave, having many hits in the 1970s and early 1980s, his natural leaning has always been towards 1950s-style rock and roll and rockabilly. Tigertailz are a Welsh glam metal band from Cardiff. Their 1990 album '' Bezerk'' made the Top 40 on the UK Albums Chart and contained the hit singles "Love Bomb Baby" and "Heaven". The band reformed in 2005. History Formation and early years Tigertailz (originally Stagefright) formed in 1983 when guitarist Jay Pepper joined bassist Pepsi Tate and drummer Ian Welch, responding to their advert in Cardiff record store Spillers Records.
