Bob Humid
Bob Humid (also known as Robert Feuchtl) is a German producer, DJ, sound designer and mastering engineer in the Cologne electronic music and studio scene. His musical work expands from electronic breakbeats to experimental electronica while occasionally touching the area of club music and pop. He describes his own music as "eclectica". He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, but grew up in Germany for most of the time. He was one third of the electronic body music / synthpop formation "Der Liederkranz" in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He has organised and co-organised many activities in Cologne's electronic music underground including "Mos Eisley" (with DJ Tetsuo), "Twist'n'Shout" (with Uh-Young Kim), "Is It Now?", "Radical Love Area", "Vectrax" (with Telekolleck), "Propellor Knights", "Lights! Patrick Alavi
Patrick Alavi is a German musician and DJ specialising in funk and electronic. Career History In 1996, Alavi released his first EP as Dj Alavi on Sonic House, a Sub Label of the German Techno Label Atomic Silence. In 2001, Alavi was signed by Bad Boy Bill for his labels Moody Recordings and International House Records. That same year Alavi signed 2 EP's on the French label Vertigo on which also Romain Tranchart from Modjo released his first EP as Funk Legacy. In 2004, Kris Menace signed Alavi for two EP's on his Label Work It Baby. The track "Power" later was re-released in the UK with new mixes on Azuli Records. The track "Come To Me" reached No. 3 in the UK Buzz Charts. Rupert Hine
Rupert Neville Hine (21 September 1947 – 4 June 2020) was an English musician, songwriter and record producer. He produced albums for artists including Rush, Kevin Ayers, Tina Turner, Howard Jones, Saga, the Fixx, Bob Geldof, Thompson Twins, Stevie Nicks, Chris de Burgh, Suzanne Vega, Underworld, Duncan Sheik, Formula and Eleanor McEvoy. Additionally, Hine recorded eleven albums, including those billed under his own name, the pseudo-band name Thinkman, and as a member of the band Quantum Jump; with the latter, he achieved a number 5 hit on the UK Singles Chart in 1979, "The Lone Ranger". Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. It de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a percussionist, often at slower tempos than other popular music. Techstep
Techstep is a dark subgenre of drum and bass that was created in the mid-1990s. Style It is characterized by a dark, sci-fi mood, near-exclusive use of synthesised or sampled sound sources, 2-step kicks and snares and influences from industrial and techno music, what some writers have described as a "clinical" sound. Although described as having a "techy" feel, techstep's relationship with techno should not be overstated. It shares the technique of creating a high-energy collage from abstract, synthetic noises, including samples, bleeps and squelches: it rarely uses instruments that have not been processed by effects. Similarly, quantized drum-machine kit and percussion sounds are favored over naturalistic human breakbeats.
