Municipality (Quebec)
The following is a list of the types of local and supralocal territorial units in Quebec, including those used solely for statistical purposes, as defined by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Regions and Land Occupancy and compiled by the Institut de la statistique du Québec. A list of local municipal units in Quebec by regional county municipality can be found at List of municipalities in Quebec. Local municipalities All municipalities (except cities), whether township, village, parish, or unspecified ones, are functionally and legally identical. Cayamant
Cayamant is a municipality in La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. The village of Lac-Cayamant is located at the north end of Lake Cayamant, west of Gracefield, Quebec, Gracefield. It was formerly known as the Township Municipality (Quebec), Township Municipality of Dorion, named after Antoine-Aimé Dorion (1818-1891). It was renamed to the Municipality of Cayamant at the end of 1988, due to many problems created by having the identical name to that of the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Dorion (which merged with neighbouring Vaudreuil in 1994). The new name refers to the largest lake in its territory, Lake Cayamant. The Algonquin term ''Kakgama, Kandikagamaw'', or ''Kandikagama'' means "porcupine". Alternatively, it may come from ''Kantuagama'', which means lake with a large bay. The village has a primary school, a church, and some convenience stores, restaurants and some basic commerce. Most of the population lives near the lake. The most populated ...

Gracefield is a city in La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Regional County Municipality in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada. It was reorganized on 13 March 2002 when three former municipalities (Gracefield, Northfield, and Wright) were merged into one. Blue Sea Lake
Blue Sea Lake (in French: ''Lac Blue Sea'') is a lake in the municipalities of Blue Sea and Messines, Quebec, Canada, about north of Gatineau. It is known for its crystal clear water and is surrounded by cottages on its shores. The blue waters of Blue Sea Lake, together with its dimensions and the absence of significant relief around, create the illusion of a sea. It feeds the Blue Sea River which empties into the Picanoc River, in turn a tributary of the Gatineau River. Its name first appeared on a map of Hull County in 1928. Just over to the west, in Cayamant, is another, somewhat smaller lake called ''Lac de la Mer Bleue'', which also means "Blue Sea Lake". To distinguish between these two lakes, the English name is used for the larger one, even in French. Geography The town of Blue Sea is in the centre of what is known as the Upper Gatineau region and is surrounded by a number of other lakes, rivers, ponds, and wetlands — and true wilderness areas. Like so many other ar ...
