Blue Meanies were an American ska-core band founded in Carbondale, Illinois, at Southern Illinois University, in 1989. Independent years The band made their recording debut in 1991 with the release of their first single, "Grandma Shampoo" c/w "Dickory Dock". Although their personnel was continuously changing, The Blue Meanies' sound would remain consistent throughout their first four albums, ''Peace Love Groove'' (1991), ''Pave The World'' (1992), ''Kiss Your Ass Goodbye'' (1995), ''Full Throttle'' (1997), and the live record ''Sonic Documentation Of Exhibition And Banter'' (1998). Carbondale, Illinois
Carbondale is a city in Jackson and Williamson Counties, Illinois, United States, within the Southern Illinois region informally known as "Little Egypt". The city developed from 1853 because of the stimulation of railroad construction into the area. Today the major roadways of Illinois Route 13 and U.S. Route 51 intersect in the city. The city is southeast of St. Louis, on the northern edge of the Shawnee National Forest. Carbondale is the home of the main campus of Southern Illinois University (SIU). Cougars (band)
Cougars is a Chicago-based rock band formed in 2000. The band signed to the New York-based label Go-Kart Records in 2003 and embarked on several extensive US and European tours. Cougars' music is often compared to that of The Jesus Lizard and Rocket from the Crypt. The band avoids categorizing themselves in interviews; they've claimed to be simply "a rock band with horns" and "a rock band making rock music." In 2007, the band parted ways with saxophonist Jeff Vidmont and trumpet player Mark Beening. In 2008, it parted ways with keyboardist Sam Ambrosini. The Bollweevils
The Bollweevils is a punk band from Chicago. The members consist of Daryl Wilson on vocals, Sensitive Pete on bass, Ken Fitzner ("Ken Weevil") on guitar, and Pete Mumford on drums. Former members include founding bass player, Bob Skwerski, Brian Czarnik (who played simultaneously in Oblivion) on drums later replaced by Brett Friesen (who played simultaneously in Houseboy). They formed during the Naked Raygun era which was where the band members met and also, for whom they eventually opened. The group released a number of albums on Dr. Strange Records; though, their first, minor releases were on Underdog Records(Chicago). The group's current record label, Go Deaf Records LLC, is owned and operated by the band. Naked Raygun was one of the first, one of the longest running, and one of the most recognized Chicago punk bands. They are considered by many to be the most important band in the history of Chicago punk rock and credited with creating “the Chicago Sound.” Raygun was active (in various lineups) from 1980 to 1992, along with reunion shows in 1997. Riot Fest remains one of the largest independently owned music festivals in the United States. Logan Conrad Mader (born November 16, 1970) is a Canadian record producer and current guitarist of melodic death metal band Once Human, as well as the former lead guitarist of groove metal band Machine Head. Mader is most famous for his time in Machine Head, whose 1994 debut ''Burn My Eyes'' was released by Roadrunner Records and quickly became the top-selling debut album in the label's history until Slipknot's debut album. The Methadones
The Methadones were a band formed in 1993 by guitarist/vocalist Dan Vapid. The Methadones initially lasted only a few shows before Vapid put them to the side to focus on his main band Screeching Weasel. By 1999 Dan was no longer a member of Screeching Weasel or his other band The Riverdales, and decided to restart The Methadones with B-Face of The Queers on bass, and Dan Lumley on drums. The band recorded their first album ''Ill at Ease'' in 2001. After the recording, B-Face and Lumley left the band. Schafer formed a new lineup of The Methadones with guitarist Mike Byrne, bassist Sensitive Pete, and drummer Mike Soucy. MU330 are an American ska punk band from St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Formed by students of St. Louis University High School in 1988, MU330 played a self-described brand of music called "Psycho Ska", high energy ska punk marked by manic performances and humorous, often strange lyricism. Since 1997, however, the band's musical direction has shifted towards a more melodic and lyric-driven ska/indie rock sound, a combination that's been described as "Weezer meets The Specials". The Tossers are an American six-piece Celtic punk band from Chicago, Illinois, United States, formed in July 1993. They have toured with Murphy's Law, Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Dropkick Murphys, The Reverend Horton Heat, Flogging Molly, Street Dogs, Clutch, Sick of it All and Mastodon.
