Blount County Schools (BCS) is a school district in Blount County, Tennessee, United States. The district has 18 schools with 750 teachers/administrators serving approximately 11,000 students. The district includes all unincorporated areas and all municipalities except for Maryville and most of Alcoa. Communities in the district boundary include: Eagleton Village, Friendsville, Greenback, Happy Valley, Louisville, Rockford, Seymour, Tallassee, Townsend, Walland & Wildwood. Heritage High School (Tennessee)
Heritage High School is a public high school located approximately outside the city of Maryville, in Blount County, Tennessee, USA, which opened in 1977. It was created through the consolidation of four community high schools (Townsend, Walland, Porter and Everett) into a comprehensive high school. Heritage High School is one of two secondary schools operated by Blount County Schools. Two other public high schools in Blount County that are operated by the cities of Maryville and Alcoa. The school provides education primarily to students from Townsend, Walland, Louisville, Rockford and Alcoa communities. Townsend is a city in Blount County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The city was chartered in 1921 by persons who were involved with the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company. The population was 244 at the 2000 census and 448 at the 2010 census. Seymour, Tennessee
Seymour is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Blount and Sevier counties in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The CDP population was 14,705 at the 2020 U.S. census. It is included in the Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Seymour was originally the site of Newell's Station, a frontier station established by early Sevier County pioneer Samuel Newell (1754–1841) in 1783.
