History The school was established in 1962 for a student population of 900. As of 2006, the number of students was around 3000. It belongs to the Colton Joint Unified School District. Bloomington High School (BHS) is a public secondary school in Bloomington, Illinois, and is part of Bloomington School District 87. Curriculum Courses include subjects of standard core high school curricula ( Math, English, Science, Physical Education, Foreign Language, etc.) as well as courses in fine arts, vocational skills and special education. Old Bloomington High School
The Old Bloomington High School is a historic high school building at 510 E. Washington Street in Bloomington, Illinois. Opened in 1917, the building replaced another high school building from 1895, which was one of several buildings used for the local high school since its establishment in 1857; all of these older buildings have since been demolished. Bloomington architect Arthur L. Pillsbury designed the building in the Collegiate Gothic style, a variant on the popular Gothic Revival style which, as its name suggests, was mainly used for large educational buildings. The building's design includes a large, detailed Gothic arched main entrance with towering piers at each side, large windows with limestone surrounds, and projecting piers at the front corners and side entrances. History Bloomington High School South originated as Bloomington High School, or BHS. BHS was a prep school for Indiana University until University High School was built in the 1930s, which allowed BHS to become a general high school. Bloomington is a census-designated place (CDP) in Victoria County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,459 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Victoria, Texas, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Bloomington is located at (28.646639, -96.896556). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km2), all land.
