''Blooming Period'' is the fifth extended play by South Korean boy band Block B, released on April 11, 2016 by Seven Seasons, almost two years since their last Korean album, ''H.E.R''. The album contains two singles, "몇 년 후에 (A Few Years Later)", which was pre-released on March 28, 2016; and "Toy", which was released with the EP. Background and release The group announced the release of their fifth mini album in the first week of March in 2016 with plans of releasing its lead single ahead of the album. "몇 년 후에 (A Few Years Later)" was released digitally on March 28 and is described as 'neo soul genre music'. It was also noted to be different from the group's previous releases, bringing out their more emotional side musically, also showing it through their acting in the song's music video which was released on the same day. Block B
Block B ( ko, 블락비) is a South Korean boy band managed by KQ Entertainment, and consists of seven members: Taeil, B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, Park Kyung, Zico, and P.O. Block B has received several accolades, including nominations for seven Golden Disc Awards and eleven Seoul Music Awards. Block B was created by musician Cho PD in 2011 on a budget of US$1.4 million. They made their live debut on KBS' ''Music Bank'' and MTV's ''Match Up!'' that same year, and drew criticism for their sexually provocative performances. The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. It is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Founded in 2010. , established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan and Western music. Lee Tae-il (Hangul: 이태일, born September 24, 1990), better known by the mononym Taeil (Hangul: 태일), is a South Korean singer, signed under Seven Seasons. Park Kyung (Korean: 박경; born July 8, 1992), also known as just Kyung, is a South Korean rapper and record producer. He is a member of the group Block B.
