Bloodstrike (band)
Bloodstrike is an American death metal band formed in 2013. The band is a prominent name in the resurgence of the old school Swedeath or Swedish death metal scene, utilizing the classic Hm-2 'chainsaw' guitar tone. History Bloodstrike was formed in Denver, Colorado by guitarist Jeff Alexis and vocalist Holly Wedel in 2013 with the intent of playing an old school style of death metal. Alexis had formerly played bass in the thrash band Silencer (with Ritchie Wilkinson ex- Angel Dust, ex- Demons and Wizards) and had known Wedel for a while when she was the vocalist for Torrid Flesh (with members of Satan's Host, including Marcus Garcia, who would later fill in on bass with Bloodstrike, as well as Richie Tice ex-Speedwolf, ex-Havok) and Nexhymn (with Tyler Cantrell ex-Havok). He had also filled in on bass with Nexhymn at one point. Mausoleum Records was a Belgian-based heavy metal label, once considered by ''Billboard'' as "one of Europe's premier hard rock labels". Nightingale is a Swedish rock band from Örebro. History Nightingale began in 1995 as a solo project of Dan Swanö, designed to explore his brief fascination with more of a cleanly-sung rock style evident on Edge of Sanity tracks such as "Sacrificed". The first album '' The Breathing Shadow'' was recorded and mastered by Swanö alone in the space of a week at his home Unisound studio, and has been described by some as a tribute to goth rock band The Sisters of Mercy. The second album '' The Closing Chronicles'' was recorded in April 1996 with his brother Dag acting as producer and contributing some guitar parts. Edge of Sanity was a Swedish death metal band that, alongside Opeth, is commonly regarded as being the first to fuse extreme metal styles like death and black metal with progressive rock. Bloodbath is a Swedish death metal supergroup from Stockholm, formed in 1998. The band has released six full-length albums, two EPs and two DVDs depicting their performances at Wacken Open Air (in 2005) and Bloodstock Open Air (in 2010). Entombed is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1987 under the name of Nihilist. Entombed began their career as an early pioneer of Scandinavian death metal which initially differed from its American counterpart by its distinct "buzzsaw" guitar tone. Abigail Williams is an American black metal band, originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but now based in Olympia, Washington. Since their formation in 2004, the group has suffered near-constant changes to their line-up. The band even disbanded in 2007 for a short time before reforming and writing their debut full-length album.
