Bloodsoul
''Bloodsoul'' is the third studio album by the German death metal band Fleshcrawl. It was the last Fleshcrawl album to feature vocalist Alex Pretzer. In addition, it was the first of their albums to be recorded at The Abyss studio. This album is typical of Fleshcrawl's mid-to-late-1990s sound, characterized by rapid speed passages, high-speed rolling double bass drum patterning, and well layered melodic guitar riffing. The general sound can be thought of as highly similar to that of other 1990s-era melodic death metal bands such as Dismember and Grave, with slight hints of Terrorizer-like grindcore/deathgrind sounds, especially in the vocals. Fleshcrawl
Fleshcrawl is a German death metal band formed in Illertissen, Bavaria, in 1987. Their most recent album, ''Into the Catacombs of Flesh'', was released in 2019 under Apostasy Records. History 1987–1997 Fleshcrawl was formed by Stefan Hanus and Bastian Herzog in 1987 under the name Morgöth. In 1990, after original lead vocalist Wendelin Dopfer left the band, Alex Pretzer was signed on, the band changed their name to Suffocation, and released a demo tape called ''Festering Flesh''. After the release of their demo tape, the band was forced to change their name because the American band, Suffocation, had released their first vinyl cut earlier. The band was officially renamed to Fleshcrawl and then released their first 7" EP ''Lost in a Grave'' in 1991 through Morbid Records. One of the first shows under the new name took place in their hometown in October 1991. Impurity (Fleshcrawl Album)
''Impurity'' is the second studio album by the German death metal band Fleshcrawl. It was their first album to feature guitarist Mike Hanus, brother of founding member Stefan Hanus and last to feature founding bass guitarist Markus Amann, and it is the only Fleshcrawl album thus far that does not bear the "carved-in-flesh" Fleshcrawl logo. This album is different from the preceding '' Descend into the Absurd'' in that it is somewhat more melodic and musically organized, thus making it closer to the Swedish subgenre of death metal in relation than their earlier releases, which carry a more generic death metal sound. As is typical of their mid-1990s albums, and of mid-1990s Swedish/melodic death metal in general, ''Impurity'' is characterized by rapid bass drum rolls that alternate with slower, more intense patterns, particularly to counter the mid-to-high tempo guitar riffs. However, the sound of this album is unique among similar bands of the same time in that the drums are to ...

Bloodred Massacre
''Bloodred Massacre'' is the fourth studio album by the German death metal band Fleshcrawl. It is their first release to feature vocalist Sven Gross, who performed with the band until his death in 2021. This album, although somewhat different from the previous Fleshcrawl releases, is highly archetypal of the band's general 1990s sound. It is more rhythmic than its predecessors, helping to fortify the band's stake in the melodic death metal genre, and is strongly characterized by agile and smooth, yet sometimes dramatic, patterning transitions, medium-to-high tempo cyclic riffs that sometimes resemble speed metal, baritonic death growls, and rapid double bass drum rolls, typical of death metal. The general themes of the album remain consistent with earlier releases and cover such concepts as violent death, hell-born rebirth ("Hellspawn"), misanthropy ("Bloodred Massacre"), deception ("The Messenger"), and eternal damnation ("Through the Veil of Dawn"). Track listing # "Hellspa ...

Grindcore
Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial. Grindcore is considered a more noise-filled style of hardcore punk while using hardcore's trademark characteristics such as heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls, shouts and high-pitched shrieks. Early groups like Napalm Death are credited with laying the groundwork for the style. It is most prevalent today in North America and Europe, with popular contributors such as Brutal Truth and Nasum. Lyrical themes range from a primary focus on social and political concerns, to gory subject matter and black humor. Demilich (band)
Demilich is a Finnish death metal band, which formed in the early 1990s and consists of frontman Antti Boman, guitarist Aki Hytönen, bassist Ville Koistinen, and drummer Mikko Virnes. Their debut album, '' Nespithe'' (1993), features intricate death metal riffs with unusually low, guttural vocals in the vocal fry register. The album contains long, complicated song titles and unconventional lyrics which were written in code in the booklet. ''Nespithe'' was featured in ''Terrorizer'''s ''Secret History of Death Metal'', in their list of "The 40 Albums You Must Hear"; they commented: "Even trying to scream your lungs out whilst vomiting a mix of haggis, outdated goat's cheese and kebab won't do. Tested extensively by Terrorizer's scientific team, we can now safely say that no normal human is capable of reproducing the effect-free vocal madness displayed by Antti Boman on these Finns' sole, totally unique, album."Badin, Olivier.
