''Bloodflowers'' is the eleventh studio album by English rock band The Cure. It was first released in Japan on 2 February 2000, before being released in the UK and Europe on 14 February 2000 and then the day after in the US by Fiction Records and Polydor Records. Singer Robert Smith chose to not release any single from the album, against the will of the record company. However, "Maybe Someday" and "Out of This World" were issued as promotional singles to radio in the UK, US, Canada and numerous territories in Europe. ''Bloodflowers'' received mixed reviews from critics. "Watching Me Fall" was featured in the end credits of the 2000 horror film '' American Psycho''. Paul Corkett
Paul Corkett is a British record producer, engineer and arranger. Biography Paul got his start as an engineer in the mid-1980s, engineering singles and albums for bands as varied as ABC, the Chameleons, Twelfth Night and the Heart Throbs. He landed his first big engineering gig in 1992, recording the single " China" for Tori Amos's debut album ''Little Earthquakes''. In 1994, he produced his first full album, the second album '' Fake'' by Adorable. Perry Bamonte
Perry Archangelo Bamonte (born 3 September 1960) is an English musician best known as a member of the rock band The Cure from 1990 to 2005, and again since 2022. Biography Born in London, England, Bamonte became a guitar tech for The Cure in 1984. He joined the band as keyboardist in 1990, replacing Roger O'Donnell who abruptly quit after a tour, and Bamonte played both guitar and keyboards on the band's 1992 album ''Wish''. Following the departure of Porl Thompson in 1993, Bamonte took on additional lead guitar duties, O'Donnell rejoined in 1995 to fill the keyboardist position. Robert Smith (musician)
Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the rock band the Cure, which he co-founded in 1978. He was also the lead guitarist for the band Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1982 to 1984, and was part of the short-lived group the Glove in 1983. Smith is known for his guitar-playing style, distinctive voice, and fashion sense, with the lattera pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, a dishevelled nest of wiry black hair, and all-black clothesbeing highly influential on the goth subculture that rose to prominence in the 1980s. ''Galore: The Singles 1987–1997'' is the second singles compilation by The Cure. It contains singles from the years 1987–1997. The song "Wrong Number" is the only new song on the album. ''Greatest Hits'' is a greatest hits album by English rock band the Cure. It was first released in Japan on 7 November 2001, before being released in the UK and Europe on 12 November and then in the US the day after. The band's relationship with longtime label Fiction Records came to a close, and the Cure were obliged to release one final album for the label. Lead singer Robert Smith agreed to release a greatest hits album under the condition that he could choose the tracks himself. The band also recorded a special studio album released as a bonus disc to some versions of the album. The disc, titled ''Acoustic Hits'', consists of the eighteen songs from the North American release re-recorded using acoustic instruments. St Catherine's Court is a manor house in a secluded valley north of Bath, Somerset, England. It is a listed building, Grade I listed property. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Simon Jonathon Gallup (born 1 June 1960) is an English musician and bassist with the alternative rock band The Cure. He is the second longest-serving member of the band after lead vocalist/guitarist Robert Smith.
