Blood Ritual (album)
''Blood Ritual'' is the second album by the Swiss heavy metal band Samael, released in 1992 on the Century Media Records label. Background and recording When Samael's one-album-only contract with Osmose Productions expired the group signed with Century Media which, in the words of vocalist/guitarist Vorphalack, offered them a "rather interesting" deal. The long time between ''Worship Him'' and ''Blood Ritual'', explains Vorphalack, was due to negotiations between them and the label. The band chose to record their new record in Germany rather than Switzerland due to the expensive studio time of their native country.Löns (1993), page 7. Samael (band)
Samael is a Swiss extreme metal band formed in 1987 in Sion. The current line up of the band include founding members and brothers Vorphalack (Vorph) and Xytraguptor (Xy), guitarist Drop and bassist Ales. A few other members have been part of the band throughout the years: Rodolph H. (keyboards, 1993–1995), Kaos (guitar, 1996–2001), Mas (bass, 1991–2014) and Makro (guitar, 2002–2018). Samael is known to incorporate metal, industrial, electronic and symphonic music into their sound and mix it with massive beats, martial rhythms and up-tempo or blast beat.
