Pulled Apart By Horses
Pulled Apart by Horses are an English alternative rock band from Leeds. They formed in early 2008. The band were signed by Transgressive Records in 2009, and released their debut self-titled album ''Pulled Apart by Horses'' on 21 June 2010. In August 2011, they went into Monnow Valley Studio in Wales to record with record producer Gil Norton, and their second album ''Tough Love'' was released to critical acclaim on 20 January 2012. After ''Tough Love'', the band sold out their first European tour, and went on to support Biffy Clyro and Foals. In 2010 they supported Muse at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. In September 2014 the band's third album ''Blood'' became their first top 40, entering the UK Albums Chart at number 38. In 2016, Pulled Apart by Horses recorded a take over for Annie Mac and the BBC's Radio 1 in the United Kingdom. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. ''Tough Love'' is the second album from the Leeds four piece ''Pulled Apart by Horses''. It was recorded at Monnow Valley Studio in South Wales. It was released on 20 January 2012. In an interview with NME, Bassist Rob Lee explained that "This album is a lot more direct, we're better musicians and songwriters now. On the first one, we weren't that good as musicians, but now we've been touring relentlessly and we've got to be better players. We made our debut ourselves and it wasn't ambitious. This feels more like our first proper album and not just something for self-gratification. Every song on this album has its own personality and really stands on its own". Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
