Blaqk Audio
Blaqk Audio is an American electronic music duo, formed by current AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget under Interscope Records. Their debut album, ''CexCells'', was released on August 14, 2007, and reached number eighteen on the ''Billboard'' 200. The band's second album, ''Bright Black Heaven'', was released on September 11, 2012, under Superball Music's imprint Big Death. The first single from ''Bright Black Heaven'', "Faith Healer", was released August 14, 2012. Their third album, ''Material'', was released on April 15, 2016, and became their third consecutive album to debut at number one on the ''Billboard'' Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Three additional albums, ''Only Things We Love'', ''Beneath the Black Palms'', and '' Trop d'amour''were released in 2019, 2020, and 2022 respectively. Davey Havok
David Paden Marchand (born David Paden Passaro, November 20, 1975), known professionally as Davey Havok, is an American singer and musician who is the lead vocalist of the rock band AFI, the synth-pop band Blaqk Audio, the hardcore punk band XTRMST, and the new wave band Dreamcar. Amongst various other ventures, he performed lead vocals for Son of Sam's debut album and for fictional band My Purple Agony in the animated series ''Harvey Girls Forever!''. Havok is an outspoken advocate of the straight edge lifestyle and veganism. ''Material'' is the third studio album by American electronica band Blaqk Audio, consisting of Davey Havok and Jade Puget of AFI. it was released on April 15, 2016 under Blaqknoise/Kobalt Records. The first single from the album, "Anointed", was released on January 26 for streaming through SoundCloud and through digital retailers on February 19. Background Material for the album was written throughout 2014 and was recorded in 2015. ''Material'' was originally planned for a release in 2015. Havok has said that the album is lyrically "darker than our records of the past." Music sequencer Ableton Live was used in production of the album. The album was supported by three singles, " Miss Murder", " Love Like Winter", and "The Missing Frame". Recording Over 120 songs were written for the album, the majority of them never finished or released. Recording took place at Conway Recording Studios and Sage & Sound Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California. Sessions were produced by Jerry Finn with Joe McGrath handling recording. Recorded at Cello Studios in Los Angeles, California between 2002 and 2003, the album was produced by Jerry Finn and Butch Vig. Hebrew cantillation is the manner of chanting ritual readings from the Hebrew Bible in synagogue services. The chants are written and notated in accordance with the special signs or marks printed in the Masoretic Text of the Bible, to complement the letters and vowel points.
