Blanca Ares
Blanca Ares Torres (born December 30, 1970) is a former Spanish basketball player, representing Spain women's national basketball team, Spain from 1988 to 1994 and winning a gold medal at the EuroBasket Women 1993, 1993 European Championship, scoring 24 points in the final against France women's national basketball team, France. Club career Born and raised in Madrid, her family moved to Las Palmas (Canary Islands) when she was 13. She made her debut in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto with local club CB Islas Canarias, Sandra Gran Canaria under coach Domingo Díaz. As one of the most promising young players of her time, she got transferred to the BEX Banco Exterior, Caja Toledo - BEX Banco Exterior project, with other young Spanish prospects in order to prepare for the Basketball at the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992 Summer Olympics.
