Blaine Harrison
Blaine Harrison (born Stephen Blaine Harrison on 23 May 1985) is an English musician and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Mystery Jets. Early life Harrison started playing instruments as a child. He experimented with drumming at the age of eight, as well as guitar and piano later on. In his early teens, he listened to progressive rock instead of the commercial garage music preferred by his peers. Mystery Jets
Mystery Jets are an English indie rock band, formerly based on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London. The band consists of Blaine Harrison (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Jack Flanagan (bass and vocals), Kapil Trivedi (drums) and Henry Harrison (lyrics). History Formation and early demos (2003) The band's first line-up consisted of Blaine Harrison on drums, William Rees on guitar and Henry Harrison (Blaine's father) on bass. Henry became a second guitarist in the band and they were joined by Kai Fish on bass and Tamara Pearce-Higgins on the organ. Kai joined the band after suggestions that they needed a bassist (he played the cello originally). Their original name was The Misery Jets, which was taken from an Evening Standard headline (Eel Pie Island is under the Heathrow flight path, where planes can be frequently spotted). Twenty One (Mystery Jets Album)
''Twenty One'' is the second studio album by Mystery Jets, released in the UK on 24 March 2008. The first single from the album, " Young Love" featuring Laura Marling, was released on 10 March 2008. The album originally reached #50 in the UK Albums Chart but was hastily rereleased with an additional cover of Aztec Camera's hit single "Somewhere in My Heart" to coincide with the release of eighties-themed single "Two Doors Down" (featuring sax by Nik Carter), which peaked at #24 in the UK Singles Chart. This new version of the album peaked at #42 in the charts. "Young Love", "Two Doors Down" and "Half in Love with Elizabeth" were released as singles. All three songs, in addition to "Flakes" (which was released as a free download of the week via the UK iTunes Store) had music videos shot for them. Spina Bifida
Spina bifida (Latin for 'split spine'; SB) is a birth defect in which there is incomplete closing of the spine and the membranes around the spinal cord during early development in pregnancy. There are three main types: spina bifida occulta, meningocele and myelomeningocele. Meningocele and myelomeningocele may be grouped as spina bifida cystica. The most common location is the lower back, but in rare cases it may be in the middle back or neck. Occulta has no or only mild signs, which may include a hairy patch, dimple, dark spot or swelling on the back at the site of the gap in the spine. Meningocele typically causes mild problems, with a sac of fluid present at the gap in the spine. Myelomeningocele, also known as open spina bifida, is the most severe form. ''Radlands'' is the fourth studio album by the Mystery Jets. On 3 April 2012, shortly before the release of ''Radlands'', Kai Fish announced he would be leaving the band, with bassist Pete Cochrane taking his place for the band's UK tour. The album was recorded in a home recording studio set up in a country house by the Colorado river in the Westlake area in Austin, Texas. The album peaked at number 40 on the UK Albums Chart. Serotonin () or 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is a monoamine neurotransmitter. Its biological function is complex and multifaceted, modulating mood, cognition, reward, learning, memory, and numerous physiological processes such as vomiting and vasoconstriction.
