Anauta Blackmore
Anauta Blackmore (ā€“1965), also known as Lizzie Ford Blackmore, was an Arctic author, memoirist and lecturer. She is best known for her 1940 autobiography, ''Land of the Good Shadows'', which may be the first book-length autobiography of an Inuk. Blackmore claimed to have Inuit ancestry, although it's unclear if this was true. Early life She was born Sarah Elizabeth Ford on Baffin Island in about 1890. Her father was George (or Yorgke) Ford, who worked for the Hudson's Bay Company as an interpreter. In Blackmore's recounting, her mother was an Inuit woman, although company archives suggest her mother was from Newfoundland and died around 1905. She married her cousin, trading-post manager William R. Ford, with whom she had two daughters, but was widowed in August 1913 when Ford drowned. After this she spent some time in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Montreal, Quebec, and Detroit, Michigan, before settling in Indianapolis, Indiana, around 1920. Virginia Blackmore (born 6 March 1986) is a singer and songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand. Blackmore's song, ''Bones'', has received regular airplay throughout the United States and she has also performed the song on Weekend Mixtape and the Ralphie Show on 95.5 WPLJ. The song also entered the Billboard Music Charts at No. 40 for Adult Pop Songs in March 2013, reached No. 1 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart in July 2013 and certified platinum in the first week of August 2013. JĆ¼rgen Blackmore
Over the Rainbow were a rock band formed in 2008 by former members of Rainbow, along with Rainbow leader Ritchie Blackmore's son JĆ¼rgen (replacing his father on guitar). Members include Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow 1980-1984), Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow 1980-1983), Tony Carey (Rainbow 1975-1977) and Greg Smith (Rainbow 1994-1997). There was originally at least one member in the band from every part of Rainbow's career except for the years 1979 to 1980. In late 2009, Carey was replaced by Paul Morris (Rainbow 1994-1997). John Horne Blackmore (March 27, 1890 ā€“ May 2, 1971) was a Canadian school teacher and principal and Canadian politician. He was one of the first elected members and leaders of the Social Credit Party of Canada, a political party in Canada that promoted the social credit theories of monetary reform. John Blackmore was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons in 1654. Blackmore was the son of John Blackmore of Exeter, Devon. He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford on 12 December 1634, aged 18. He was awarded BA on 16 January 1640 and MA on 19 May 1649 when he was a major in the army. James Blackmore
James Blackmore (February 2, 1821 – February 6, 1875) was an American politician. He served as Mayor of Pittsburgh from 1868 to 1869 and 1872 to 1875. Life Blackmore was born in 1821 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. His father was County Treasurer in 1855, and young Blackmore served as Chief Clerk. Mayor Blackmore was engaged in the lumber and coal business. The city expanded east and George Westinghouse began manufacturing the air brake in the Strip District during Mayor Blackmore's initial term.
