Black Mark Production
Black Mark Production (founded 1991) is an independent record label originally based in Berlin, later on with offices in Stockholm, Toronto and New York City etc. Black Mark Production today is a worldwide operating business placed in Villa Hammerheart, Bruzaholm, Sweden, that specializes in extreme metal releases. It is perhaps best known for its close connection to Quorthon, leader of the defining black metal band Bathory until his death in 2004. History As Quorthon himself has stated several times, it was often speculated that he had something to do with the business and operation of Black Mark Production, except for the concept and name of the label, which would be referenced in the title of the 1987 release ''Under the Sign of the Black Mark''. Quorthon received permission from the Tyfon Grammofon label (which was owned by Quorthon's father, Börje "Boss" Forsberg, and featured Bathory) to use his own proxy-label on all Bathory albums, along with a unique 666-X serial nu ...

Stone (band)
Stone is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in Kerava in 1985. They released four albums and one live album during the late 1980s and early 1990s, before disbanding in 1992 to pursue different musical directions. Stone reunited to play a final set of concerts in 2000, but parted ways again soon afterwards. In 2008, Stone made five "reunion"/comeback appearances. They reunited again in March 2013 for select shows in order to promote their new box set. The band has remained active since then, and they have new material in the works. Despite their rather short career, Stone's legacy has provided inspiration for many of the countless metal bands who emerged during the popularity explosion of the genre during the 1990s. The band's history and influence on the Finnish metal scene was detailed in the book "Stone", published in January 2018. Children of Bodom lead guitarist Alexi Laiho credits former Stone member Roope Latvala as a major influence on his playing. Latvala himself woul ...

Nightingale (band)
Nightingale is a Swedish rock band from Örebro. History Nightingale began in 1995 as a solo project of Dan Swanö, designed to explore his brief fascination with more of a cleanly-sung rock style evident on Edge of Sanity tracks such as "Sacrificed". The first album '' The Breathing Shadow'' was recorded and mastered by Swanö alone in the space of a week at his home Unisound studio, and has been described by some as a tribute to goth rock band The Sisters of Mercy. The second album '' The Closing Chronicles'' was recorded in April 1996 with his brother Dag acting as producer and contributing some guitar parts. Unlike the first album, it is somewhat influenced by progressive rock and heavy metal, and continues the conceptual storyline that began in ''The Breathing Shadow'' to the logical conclusion of the central characters' death, as it was intended to be the last Nightingale album. After this the band went on semi-hiatus, playing a couple of live concerts in small venues ...

Necrophobic
Necrophobic is a Swedish blackened death metal band. History The band was formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner and now-deceased guitarist David Parland. It is believed that the band named themselves after a Slayer song from the 1986 seminal album '' Reign in Blood''. The pair played with a 'revolving door' lineup of musicians until the permanent addition of bassist Tobias Sidegård. This addition occurred prior to recording their debut 7-inch single, ''The Call'', in early 1992. With this lineup and the addition of Anders Strokirk on vocals, who replaced Stefan Harrvik (who had sung on the ''Unholy Prophecies'' demo and ''The Call'' 7" EP), the band entered Sunlight Studio in March 1993 and recorded their debut album ''The Nocturnal Silence''. The band had previously worked with the Wild Rags label and store for its singles. Following the addition of second guitarist Martin Halfdahn, Necrophobic released a four-song extended play, ''Spawned by Evil'', in 1996. This was a ...
