Black Gravel
''Black Gravel'' (German: ''Schwarzer Kies'') is a 1961 West German drama film directed by Helmut Käutner and starring Ingmar Zeisberg and Anita Höfer. The screenplay was written by Käutner and Walter Ulbrich. The film was shot in Lautzenhausen, Germany. The film's sets were designed by the art director. While the interiors were shot at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin, location shooting took place at Hahn Air Base. Plot The story takes place in postwar Germany, following Germany's loss in World War II. For years, people struggled with shortages of everything, housing, water, food, clothing. A military base for several thousand American soldiers is going to be built in the village of Sohnen. The locals eye them suspiciously, nonetheless recognizing the economic potential. Hahn Air Base
Hahn Air Base was a United States Air Force installation near Lautzenhausen in Germany for over 40 years. The major unit was the United States Air Force's 50th Tactical Fighter Wing during most of the years it was active. It was originally built by French workers in 1951. In September 1952 the 7356th Air Base Group stood up and started to get the base ready for operational forces. The 50th Fighter Bomber Wing deployed to Hahn from Clovis Air Force Base, New Mexico during Operation Fox Able 27 in August 1953. After name changes the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing was deactivated in 1991 after 35 years at Hahn. In September 1993, Hahn Air Base was turned over to the German Government. Gisela Fischer (21 April 1929 – 19 June 2014) was a German-born stage actress, stage, film actress, film and television actress. Biography She was the granddaughter of the publisher Samuel Fischer. ''Fräulein'' ( , ) is the German language honorific for unmarried women, comparable to Miss in English and Mademoiselle in French. Description ''Fräulein'' is the diminutive form of ''Frau'', which was previously reserved only for married women. ''Frau'' is in origin the equivalent of "My lady" or "Madam", a form of address of a noblewoman. But by an ongoing process of devaluation of honorifics, it came to be used as the unmarked term for "woman" by about 1800. The Central Council of Jews in Germany (German name: Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland) is a federation of German Jews.
