Sports Manga

Tsutomu Takahashi
, born on September 20, 1965 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese manga artist, who is well known for his manga '' Jiraishin''. As of March 2006, he is currently married and has one child. His alias is Ichigo Nekota. History He began his involvement in the manga work with the creation of ''Jiraishin'', published and serialized in Afternoon magazine and published in Kodansha, which made him a popular icon in Japan from 1992-1999. In late 1999, he published a single manga volume called ''ALIVE'', published by Shueisha. Shortly afterwards, he published ''Tetsuwan Girl'', which is also carried by Kodansha as well. Takahashi was a guest lecturer at Ritsumeikan University back in 1998, giving a talk on "Expression". is an editorial category of Japanese comics marketed toward young adult men. is a Japanese monthly ''seinen'' manga anthology published by Kodansha under the ''Afternoon'' line of magazines. The first issue was released with a cover date of January 25, 1986. Japan Media Arts Festival
The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition. Based on judging by a jury of artistic peers, awards are given in four categories: Art (formerly called Non-Interactive Digital Art), Entertainment (formerly called Interactive Art; including video games and websites), animation, and manga. Within each category, one Grand Prize, four Excellence Prizes, and (since 2002) one Encouragement Prize are awarded. Other outstanding works, are selected by the Jury as Jury Selections.
