Bjørn Bolstad Skjelbred
Bjørn Bolstad Skjelbred (born 1970) is a Norwegian composer, arranger, improviser and teacher. Career Skjelbred is educated from the Norwegian Academy of Music. His list of works encompasses more than 60 works in a variety of genres: solo- and chamber music, electro-acoustic pieces, works for sinfonietta and orchestra as well as film and theatre scores. He has worked with a number of groups, ensembles and performers including theatre collective De Utvalgte, percussionist Eirik Raude, ensemble Pärlor for svin, Nordic Voices, Ensemble 2000 and flautist Marianne Leth. Skjelbred’s works have seen performances in the Nordic countries, Germany, France, the US and Canada at festivals such as Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, Ilios and UKM. Parallel to his compositional career, Skjelbred teaches composition and improvisation. Norwegian Academy Of Music
The Norwegian Academy of Music (Norwegian: ''Norges musikkhøgskole'', NMH) is a university-level music conservatory located in Oslo, Norway, in the neighbourhood of Majorstuen, Frogner. It is the largest music academy in Norway and offers the country's highest level of music education. As a specialized university (''vitenskapelig høgskole''), it offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival
ULTIMA Oslo Contemporary Music Festival is a Norwegian music festival for contemporary music. Background Ultima is Scandinavia's largest contemporary music festival, and since 1991 it has been a key arena for contemporary music and related art forms. The festival became a designated “knutepunkt” (cultural hub) in 2006 and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs and Oslo City Council. Norwegian Society Of Composers
The Norwegian Society of Composers ( no, Norsk Komponistforening) was founded in 1917. The Society's main objectives are to promote its members' music and secure their rights. As of today the Society counts 185 members who meet regularly for discussions and seminars. The Society works towards creating opportunities for the dissemination of contemporary music and for increasing public awareness of this art form. Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra
The Oslo Philharmonic (Oslo-Filharmonien) is a Norwegian symphony orchestra based in Oslo, Norway. The orchestra traces its roots to the Philharmonic Society founded in 1847 and the Christiania Musical Association co-founded by Edvard Grieg in 1871, and was established in its current form in 1919. Since 1977, it has had its home in the Oslo Concert Hall. The orchestra gives an average of sixty to seventy symphonic concerts annually, the majority of which are broadcast nationally on the radio. Norwegian Radio Orchestra
The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Norwegian, ''Kringkastingsorkestret'', abbreviated as KORK) is a radio orchestra affiliated with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (''Norsk rikskringkasting AS'', or NRK). Its principal base is the ''Store Studio'' at the NRK's headquarters in Oslo. The orchestra's current chief administrator is Rolf Lennart Stensø. As of 2018, KORK consists of fifty-nine musicians. Live Maria Roggen
Live Maria Roggen (born 22 March 1970) is a Norwegian jazz singer, songwriter and composer. Roggen was born in Oslo and educated at Foss High School (violin and vocals). She studied sociology and Musicology intermediate at the University of Oslo and Jazz Line at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music ( NTNU) (1995–1998). She worked as a jazz and singing teacher at the Sund folkehøgskole, Høgskolen in Agder (music conservatory) and at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music (NTNU). Since 2006, Associate Professor, and since 2012 has been Professor of jazz singing at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Lars Andreas Haug
Lars Andreas Haug (born 12 April 1975) is a Norwegian jazz musician (tuba), known from a variety of jazz groups and recordings. Career Haug was born in Frogner, Akershus. He obtained his Examen artium from the Music program at Rud High School and a Master at Norges Musikkhøgskole (1994–2001). Thereafter he has been active contributor as a composer in many of the bands he plays in. With the acoustic trio ''Tri O'Trang'' (''Tri ó trang'') he cooperates with Helge Lien (piano) and Torben Snekkestad (saxophones). They have released the recordings ''Liker'' (2000), ''Fordivi'' (2002), ''Plays Jon Eberson'' (2005) and ''Må'' (2006). In duo cooperation with Live Maria Roggen he released ''Tu'Ba'' (1998).
