Bjerkøya
Bjerkøya is a populated island in Holmestrand Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The island lies in the Ytre Oslofjord, near the mouth of the Drammensfjorden. It lies about to the north of the town of Holmestrand in a small group of islands including Kommersøya, Killingholmen, and Langøya. Bjerkøya is connected to the mainland by a long causeway bridge on the north end of the island. The island was formerly part of the old Sande Municipality until 1 January 2020 when it became part of Holmestrand Municipality. The coastal parts of the island, particularly in the north end form one large village, also called Bjerkøya. The interior and southeastern parts of the island are sparsely populated. The village had a population (2012) of 225 and a population density of . Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration was located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. Holmestrand Municipality
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Holmestrand. The town was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The neighboring rural municipality of Botne was merged into the municipality of Holmestrand on 1 January 1964. Sande municipality merged into Holmestrand on January 1, 2020. The municipality of Hof was merged into Holmestrand on January 1, 2018. The town lies by the Oslofjord and is built beside the water. Ytre Oslofjord (Norwegian literally "Outer Oslo Fjord") is that part of Oslofjord which is south of the threshold of Drøbaksund (literally Drøbak Sound), the strait where the fjord narrows between Drøbak and Hurum, Norway. Drammensfjorden
Drammensfjord ( en, Drammen Fjord) is a fjord in Norway that connects to Ytre Oslofjord on the west side. It stretches to the north and northeast. The Drammenselva river discharges into the head of the fjord. The municipality and city of Drammen which is named after the fjord is also found there. The majority of the fjord is within the county of Buskerud, but in the west and southwest it lies in Vestfold county. The land on the east side of the fjord is called ''Hurumhalvøya'' or the Hurum peninsula; it separates the Drammensfjord from the Oslofjord. The fjord narrows to a strait at Svelvik in Vestfold on the west side and Verket in Hurum on the east side. The strait is crossed by an automobile ferry. Sande Municipality (Vestfold)
Sande is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020.
