Kallumala is a village near Mavelikara railway station in Mavelikara taluk. Kallumala is the twenty-first ward of Thazhakkara Grama Panchayat, Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. Education CMS LP School established in 1856 was the first school in Kallumala. In 1964 Bishop Moore College was established at Kallumala. Mavelikkara is a taluk and municipality in the ''Onattukara'' region of Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. Located in the southern part of the district on the banks of the Achankovil River. Etymology The name Mavelikara is believed to be turned out from the words ''Maveli'' or Mahabali, the mythical king of Kerala, and ''Kara'' means land. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is a privately held national-level board of school education in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination for Class X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) for Class XII. Edward Moore (Bishop Of Travancore And Cochin)
Edward Alfred Livingstone Moore (13 November 187022 September 1944) was Bishop of Travancore and Cochin from 1925 to 1937. Moore was born in Oxford into an ecclesiastical family. He was educated at Marlborough and Oriel College, Oxford and was ordained in 1895. Moore began his career as a curate in Aston, became a CMS Missionary in southern India, Principal of the society's Divinity School in Madras, and progressed to become Chairman of its Tinnevelly operations until his elevation to the episcopate. Returning to England he was Vicar of Horspath from 1938 until his death on 22 September 1944. Several schools in India are named after Moore.
