The Bisha Fishing Port () is a harbor and fish market in Zhongzheng District, Keelung, Taiwan. Architecture The port consists of two rectangular buildings, which are the fish market and food court. Zhongzheng District, Keelung
Zhongzheng District or Jhongjheng District () is a district of Keelung City, Taiwan. The district is the city seat of Keelung City. Geography Zhongzheng District includes Hoping Island ( 和平島) and the nearby Keelung Islet, as well as the more distant Pengjia Islet, Mianhua Islet and Huaping Islet. Pingfong Rock (), just east of Mianhua Islet, is the easternmost point under the actual control of Taiwan (ROC). Keelung
Keelung () or Jilong () (; Hokkien POJ: '), officially known as Keelung City, is a major port city situated in the northeastern part of Taiwan. The city is a part of the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area, along with its neighbors, New Taipei City and Taipei, respectively. Nicknamed the ''Rainy Port'' for its frequent rain and maritime role, the city is Taiwan's second largest seaport (after Kaohsiung). Keelung Islet
Keelung Islet (, also , in Taiwanese Hokkien: 雞籠杙/Ke-lâng-khit) is a small island in Zhongzheng District, Keelung, Taiwan and away from the Port of Keelung. It has an area of or . It is in length, and in width including the artificial harbor, the highest point is above sea level. History In ancient times, the island was seen as a sacred place by locals. It was rumoured that a female ghost named Shih-Yun lived there, to mourn over her husband who died in a shipwreck hundreds of years ago. In the modern day, the islet is primarily used as a military training base. Since 2001, it has been opened for tourists. Ferry services to the island operate daily from the port of Keelung. Keelung Station () is a railway station in Ren'ai District, Keelung, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways. The station was built in 1891, and has gone through several renovations. Zhengbin Fishing Port
The Zhengbin Fishing Port () is a fishing port located in Zhongzheng District, Keelung, Taiwan. History Built by the Japanese in 1934, the port used to be the largest fishing port in Taiwan and the main export port of Jinguashi copper mine during the Japanese colonial period. No longer the bustling center of its past, nowadays the pace of life is much slower in this corner of the city. However, Zhengbin Fishing Port is now popular amongst both locals and tourists for its row of 16 multi-colored houses situated on the bank.
