Birchwood Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Fort Gratiot Township, outside the city of Port Huron, Michigan, United States. The Mall features more than 100 stores and a food court. The mall's anchor stores are CubeSmart, Dunham's Sports, JCPenney, and Target. Other major tenants include Planet Fitness and AMC Birchwood 10. There are 3 vacant anchor stores that were once Carson's, Macy's, and Sears. The mall is located on 24th Avenue (M-25), north of Interstate 69 (I-69) and I-94. History Birchwood Mall opened in April 1991, with Target, Sears, JCPenney, and Wisconsin-based department store chain Prange's as its anchor stores. Upon opening, the mall attracted Canadian shoppers, who crossed over from Sarnia, Ontario on the Blue Water Bridge. Fort Gratiot Township ( ) is a charter township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 11,108 at the 2010 Census. Interstate 94 (I-94) is a part of the Interstate Highway System that runs from Billings, Montana, to the Lower Peninsula of the US state of Michigan. In Michigan, it is a state trunkline highway that enters the state south of New Buffalo and runs eastward through several metropolitan areas in the southern section of the state. The highway serves Benton Harbor–St. Joseph near Lake Michigan before turning inland toward Kalamazoo and Battle Creek on the west side of the peninsula. Younkers Inc. is an American online retailer and former department store chain founded as a family-run dry goods business in 1856 in Keokuk, Iowa. Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron.
