Binchō-tan (manga)
is a mascot character, created by Japanese manga artist and produced by game goods company Alchemist. The name is a play on words: is a kind of charcoal, which is mainly used for cooking. However, ''-tan'' is a suffix created by the mispronunciation by young children of ''-san'', that led to the suffix -chan. Relating to this ''dajare'', the main cast is the moe anthropomorphic representations of different types of charcoal. An anime began airing in February 2006 that was produced by Studio Deen. Animax, who have also broadcast all episodes within respective networks across Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia, translating and dubbing the series into English and other languages. is a Japanese publishing company that focuses on manga-related publications and is also involved in the development of anime and live-action adaptations. It was founded on June 5, 2001 by Yoshihiro Hosaka along with former manga artists of Enix (now Square Enix). Binchōtan
''Binchō-tan'' ( ja, 備長炭), also called white charcoal or ''binchō-zumi,'' is a type of charcoal traditionally used in Japanese cooking. Its use dates to the Edo period, when, during the Genroku era, a craftsman named Bichū-ya Chōzaemon () began to produce it in Tanabe, Wakayama. The typical raw material used to make ''binchō-tan'' in Japan is oak, specifically , now the official tree of Wakayama Prefecture. is a form of anthropomorphism in anime and manga where '' moe'' qualities are given to non-human beings (such as animals, plants, supernatural entities and fantastical creatures), objects, concepts, or phenomena. In addition to ''moe'' features, ''moe'' anthropomorphs are also characterized by their accessories, which serve to emphasize their original forms before anthropomorphosis. The characters here, usually in a kind of cosplay, are drawn to represent an inanimate object or popular consumer product.
