William Hickin Jackson (1894 – 3 May 1917) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward in the Football League for West Bromwich Albion. Personal life Jackson served in the Officer Training Corps during the First World War and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the West Yorkshire Regiment on 22 January 1916, a year-and-a-half after the beginning of the war. Oldbury is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, England. It is the administrative centre of the borough and one of its six constituent towns. At the 2011 census, the ward of Oldbury had a population of 13,606, while the 2017 population of the wider built-up area was estimated at 25,488. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981.
