Bill Cutler (baseball Executive)
William S. Cutler (February 7, 1920 – March 24, 2012) served as the Pacific Coast League president from 1979 to 1997. He was inducted into the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame in 2005. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to serving as president of the PCL, Cutler worked as an administrative assistant to Will Harridge. (In the famous video of Willie Mays' catch of Vic Wertz's fly ball in the 1954 World Series which then cuts back to fans in the stands, Cutler is seated next to the man who puts his hand to his forehead in disbelief.) He then worked as an assistant general manager and vice-president to Charlie Finley, although mostly in name only. After that, he worked as a scout for the Montreal Expos, and he eventually became owner of the Portland Beavers. He moved the team to Spokane, Washington in 1973. Cutler is related to former minor leaguers Charles Bordes and Brett Bordes and former big leaguer Jack Heidemann. He died on March 24, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Referen ...

William Percival Cutler (29 July 1900 – 13 August 1969) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of George Phillip Cutler, and Julia Cutler, née Baker, William Percival Cutler was born at Bowenvale (near Timor), Victoria on 29 July 1900. He married Cecelia Maria Drummy (1900–1969) in 1923. He died at the Repatriation General Hospital, Heidelberg on 13 August 1969. Football Melbourne Recruited from Ballarat, he played his first match (at the age of 29) for Melbourne against South Melbourne on 3 May 1930 in round one of the 1930 VFL season. He played in the first fifteen matches of the 1930 season. On 23 August 1930, in the round fifteen match against Carlton, he was reported for three separate offences. He was found guilty of two of the three charges, and was suspended for a total of 12 matches: * Striking Dinny Kelleher. The charge was sustained and Cutler was suspended for eight matches. ( ...
