Bill (Tripping Daisy Album)
''Bill'' is the first full-length album by Tripping Daisy. It was released in 1992 on the Dragon Street label, and then re-released in 1993 on Island Records. On the re-release, the track "Green Tambourine" was removed, and the two unlisted tracks were appended to the final track. The album had sold around 15,000 copies before it was picked up by Island. "My Umbrella" spent two weeks on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at No. 24. Tripping Daisy
Tripping Daisy is a Neo-psychedelia, neo-psychedelic pop rock band that was formed in Dallas, Texas, by lead singer/guitarist Tim DeLaughter in 1990 along with Jeff Bouck (drums), Wes Berggren (guitar) and Mark Pirro (bass). The group disbanded in 1999 following the sudden death of Berggren. The remaining members reformed in 2017 for a reunion performance at the Homegrown Festival in Dallas, following which they played a number of concerts in Texas during 2017 and 2019. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. Like these genres, grunge typically uses electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals. Grunge also incorporates influences from indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth. Lyrics are typically angst-filled and introspective, often addressing themes such as social alienation, self-doubt, abuse, neglect, betrayal, social and emotional isolation, addiction, psychological trauma and a desire for freedom. PolyGram N.V. was a multinational entertainment company and major music record label formerly based in the Netherlands.
