Biga Ranx
Gabriel Piotrowski (born 27 September 1988), better known by his stage name Biga Ranx (sometimes stylized as Biga*Ranx), is a French ragga hip hop musician from Tours, Centre Region, signed to X-Ray Production, an independent record label based in Paris. He released his debut LP ''On Time'' in October 2011, and his second album ''Good Morning Midnight'' in April 2013. He has collaborated with Maffi, Ondubground, Mungo's Hi Fi and Joseph Cotton. Biography Born in Tours, France, Biga took his musical inspiration from such Reggae artists as Super Cat, Alton Ellis and Vybz Kartel as well as from American rap music. In 2004 he created the Bandalero Sound System alongside DJ Atili, occasionally featuring the Ondubground collective. Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican alternative hip-hop band formed by stepbrothers Residente (lead vocalist, songwriter) and Visitante (multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, beat producer), along with their half-sister iLe, also known as PG-13 (backing vocals). Pérez and Cabra first were discovered by Elias De Leon. They were subsequently given a record deal with White Lion Records after leaving a demo with A&R Director Carlos "Karly" Rosario. After the song "Querido FBI" was released, the group gained attention in Puerto Rico. ''Multi_Viral'' is the fifth studio album from Puerto Rican band Calle 13, released on March 1, 2014. It marks the band's debut release via their new independent label, El Abismo, since they parted ways with Sony Music Latin. The album won Best Urban Music Album at the 15th Annual Latin Grammy Awards and Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Recording and release The album was mixed at Electric Lady Studios, in Greenwich Village, New York City. During the recording of the album in San Juan, Visitante saw the light bulbs in the studio burning out one by one as the months passed.
