Big Walnut High School
Big Walnut High School is a public high school located in Sunbury, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Big Walnut School District. The first Big Walnut High School to open was in August of 1951 at 105 Baughman Street. The current building was opened in January of 2022 to meet the demands of the growing district and has a student population of 1221. The school's mascot is the Golden Eagle. History Big Walnut Local School District was formed by a legislative action of the Delaware County Board of Education in January 1950. The previous rivals of Galena and Sunbury School districts were abolished and the new district was formed. It was named for the Big Walnut Creek which flows through both towns. Prior to consolidation, the Sunbury District had purchased 56 acres of land south of Sunbury and north of Galena in preparation for building a new high school. The city is centered on a New England-styled traditional town square with a historic village hall located in the center of a village green. Dave Yost
David Anthony Yost (born December 22, 1956) is an American politician, Republican, and lawyer who currently serves as the 51st Attorney General of Ohio. Education and career Yost graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. He earned a Juris Doctor from the Capital University Law School. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Adam Shaheen (American Football)
Adam Shaheen (born October 24, 1994) is an American football tight end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Ashland, and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He is the highest draft pick from Ashland in the modern era of the NFL. Ohio Capital Conference
The Ohio Capital Conference is a high school athletic conference located in Central Ohio. It comprises 32 public high schools located primarily in suburban Columbus, Ohio, encompassing Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, and Union counties. The league is geographically divided into four divisions of six teams each (Ohio, Central, Buckeye, and Capital) and one division of eight teams (Cardinal). Twenty-three schools compete in the OHSAA's Division I classification for football while eight schools compete in Division II.
