The Big South Conference is a Minnesota State High School League sanctioned athletic conference run by Gabe Stoesz, comprising schools located in the south central and southwest regions of Minnesota Minnesota () is a state in the upper midwestern region of the United States. The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) is a voluntary, non-profit association for the support and governance of interscholastic activities at high schools in Minnesota, United States. The association supports interscholastic athletics and fine arts programs for member schools. Membership includes nearly 500 schools, including special schools, home schools, and 435 high schools. The State High School League is an affiliate of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The League also addresses sportsmanship, chemical health, scholarship recognition, and oversees tournament officials and judges. The League provides educational programs for coaches. Windom is a city in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 4,646 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cottonwood County and is situated in the Coteau des Prairies. Pipestone Area High School is the only public high school in Pipestone, Minnesota, United States. The high school is part of the Pipestone Area School District, Independent School District #2689. As of August 2017, there were 324 students enrolled in grades 912. A new facility, which houses grades 512 and the school district administration, was opened in January 2003 at the cost of $22.3 million. New Ulm High School (NUHS) is a public high school in New Ulm, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the New Ulm Public Schools district. History Due to budget cuts for school funding from the state in 2007, the New Ulm Middle School had to shut down, and shared space with the New Ulm High School until 2016. A new high school was built and opened in the fall of 2016 after a referendum was passed in 2014. The other district buildings were remodeled and the old high school became the middle school.
