''Big Brother Mzansi'', formerly known as ''Big Brother South Africa'', is a television series in South Africa produced by M-Net and Endemol. As of 2022, it has had a total of six seasons. ''Big Brother South Africa'' had two seasons, and a celebrity season in between. The first season aired in 2001 and the second in 2002. Both seasons were directed by Leon Coetzer and hosted by Mark Pilgrim. In 2014, the show was rebooted and rebranded ''Big Brother Mzansi''. This return show brought with it a new host, Lungile Radu, and a new production network, M-Net's Mzansi Magic. The second season was broadcast in 2015. Following a six-year hiatus, a third season of ''Big Brother Mzansi'' was announced which premiered on 23 January 2022 with a new host, Lawrence Maleka. M-Net Original Programming
M-Net (an abbreviation of Electronic Media Network) is a South African pay television channel established by Naspers in 1986. The channel broadcasts both local and international programming, including general entertainment, children's series, sport and movies. While the TV signal is generally encrypted, M-Net showed some programmes 'free to air' in its "Open Time" slot between 5 p.m. and 7 pm, until the slot closed on 1 April 2007. ''Big Brother Mzansi: Beke Le Beke'' (also known as ''Big Brother Mzansi 3'' or ''Big Brother South Africa 5'') is the third season of the South African '' Big Brother'' reality television reboot series produced by Banijay and Red Pepper Pictures for Mzansi Magic. Bill Flynn
William Flynn (13 December 1948 – 11 July 2007) was a South African actor and comedian, perhaps best known for playing Tjokkie. Early life Flynn was born William Frederick Flynn in Cape Town and matriculated from Plumstead High School. He went to the UCT drama school and was a founder member of the Space theatre in Cape Town.
