Big Brother (Belgian TV Series)
''Big Brother'' is the Belgian version of the international reality television franchise '' Big Brother'' produced by Endemol. The show aired in Flemish Region of Belgium on Kanaal Twee and has had a total of nine seasons. There have been six regular seasons, two celebrity seasons and one all-stars season. The first season of the show aired in 2000. A cooperation series between Belgium and The Netherlands premiered on 4 January 2021 and was aired on VIER in Belgium and RTL5 in The Netherlands. Format The format of ''Big Brother'' has the same format as the international Big Brother franchise. A group of strangers lives together in an isolated home. They have to work together to succeed in tasks but next to that they also have to nominate each other. The nominated housemates are up for eviction by the audience. Vilvoorde (, french: Vilvorde ; historically known as ''Filford'' in English) is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of Flemish Brabant. Big Brother (Belgian Season 1)
''Big Brother 1'' is the first season of the Belgian version of ''Big Brother'' aired in the Flemish Region of Belgium on Kanaal 2. The show started on 3 September 2000 and finished on 17 December 2000 with a total duration of 106 days. Steven won 5,000,000 BEF. The kick-off show had immediately high ratings with 711,000 viewers. The highlights shows had around 800,000 viewers, the live shows got more than 1 million. The highlight of the season was the charity task, called ''Big Benefiet''. The housemates collected more than 7 million BEF in a week. 13 housemates participated in this season. The housemates were very creative, making mini shows themselves during their stay. One of those shows named ''Studio Spillonimo'' even became an epilogue of some of the ''Big Brother'' highlights episodes. Dirk Dries David Damiaan, Viscount Frimout (born 21 March 1941 in Poperinge, Belgium) is an astrophysicist for the European Space Agency. Etienne Vermeersch
Etienne Vermeersch (2 May 1934, Sint-Michiels, Bruges – 18 January 2019, Ghent) was a Belgian moral philosopher, skeptic, opinion maker and debater. He is one of the founding fathers of the abortion, euthanasia law, and the Law on Patients' Rights in Belgium. Vermeersch became an atheist after five years with the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Later he became a philosophical materialist. In January 2008, Vermeersch was chosen by hundred prominent Flemings as the most influential intellectual of Flanders. Kanaal 2
VTM 2 (formerly Q2) is a Belgian television channel owned by the commercial broadcasting company DPG Media. History The channel was originally known as Kanaal 2. However, it has undergone several rebrandings over the years. At launch in 1995, the channel was branded as Ka2 (Dutch pronunciation of K2), then Kanaal 2. In 2001, it was branded KANAALTWEE.
