Bicentennial Peru
The Bicentennial Peru () is a left-wing parliamentary group of the Congress of the Republic of Peru. Formed in June 2022, it brings together deputies from Free Peru. The group declares itself independent but supports the actions of President Pedro Castillo. History The president and first spokesperson Jorge Marticorena, the parliamentarian behind the creation of the group, decides to resign from the group of Free Peru as of 26 May 2022, when the Congress of the Republic approves the non-confidence motion of Minister Betssy Chávez. Due to the governmental crisis of May 2022, and the wave of resignations and the different lines within the group of Free Peru (the creation of the BECN group), the three congressmen Jorge Coayla, Elías Varas and Víctor Cutipa also decide to leave Free Peru. Free Peru
Free Peru ( es, Perú Libre), officially the Free Peru National Political Party ( es, Partido Político Nacional Perú Libre), is a Marxist political party in Peru. Founded in 2008 as the Free Peru Political Regional Movement, the party was officially constituted as a national organization in February 2012 by the name of Libertarian Peru. It was registered as a political party in January 2016 and adopted its current name, Free Peru, in January 2019. Its presidential candidate Pedro Castillo won the 2021 Peruvian general election against Popular Force nominee Keiko Fujimori. Free Peru has the second most seats in the Congress of Peru with 22 out of 130 total representatives, but its opposition continued to rule Congress after forming a larger alliance of seats led by the Popular Action party. Formed in May 2022, it brings together several dissident legislators from Peru Libre. The group was classified as pro- Castillo administration. History Foundation On May 11, 2022, ten congressmen from the Free Peru parliamentary group announced their resignation due to a disagreement over the election of the new magistrates of the Constitutional Court, without prior discussion. However, congresswoman and former minister Katy Ugarte contests the resignation after this event, but alludes to a group agreement that had been prepared for a long time, and whose press conference was scheduled for the same day. Moquegua () is a department and region in southern Peru that extends from the coast to the highlands. Its capital is the city of Moquegua, which is among the main Peruvian cities for its high rates of GDP and national education. Geography The department's volcanoes and its geomorphology make its geography remarkable. It is formed by upstream portion of the Tambo River, one of the most torrential coastal rivers, which forms deep valleys that can be divided into three sectors, the first one being in the northwest, forming the Puquina-La Capilla sector. Waldemar José Cerrón Rojas (19 March 1972) is a Peruvian professor and a politician. Biography Cerrón was born on 19 March 1972 in Chupaca, Junín. He is the son of Jaime Cerrón Palomino and Bertha Rojas López, two university professors. His brother is politician Vladimir Cerrón. Cerrón is licensed to teach both pedagogy and humanities. He received a doctorate in the educational sciences at the National University of the Center of Peru. Political career Cerrón joined the Socialist Party in 2007. Betssy Betzabet Chávez Chino (born 3 June 1989) is a Peruvian lawyer and politician, who served as prime minister of Peru from 26 November until 7 December 2022 when she resigned from office.
