Bibeksheel Nepali
Bibeksheel Nepali Dal (विवेकशील नेपाली दल) is a political party in Nepal. The name ''"Bibeksheel"'' translates to "common sense wisdom". When the first Constitutional Assembly was dissolved, it organized a recurring session called "What Next?" (अब के गर्ने?). History In 2013 Ujwal Thapa, the ex-chairperson of Bibeksheel Nepali ran as an independent candidate in the second Constitutional Assembly election, which was held on November 19, 2013. At the time of the election, the symbol of the party was a dog (कुकुर). With four independent candidates in the Kathmandu Valley, the party received about 3,000 votes, mostly from young voters. After the second Constitutional Assembly election, it was registered as "Bibeksheel Nepali", a political party with a smiling face as an election symbol. The Sajha Party ( ne, साझा पार्टी) is a political party founded by former editor-in-chief of BBC Nepali Service Rabindra Mishra. History Sajha Party was founded in 2017 by the former editor-in-chief of BBC Nepali Service, Rabindra Mishra. It was formed as an "alternative" party and guided by the welfare economy and inspired by global norms of democracy. The party contested the 2017 local election as independents with Ramesh Maharjan and Kishore Thapa finishing third and fourth in Kathmandu and Lalitpur elections respectively. Deputy mayor candidate Sobha Shakya finished in second place in Lalitpur, and Nirupama Yadav finished third in Kathmandu. The party was not as successful outside the Kathmandu Valley with their candidates in Itahari getting less than 500 votes. The Bibeksheel Sajha Party ( Nepali: विवेकशील साझा पार्टी) is a political party in Nepal. It was the sixth largest party of Nepal by popular vote after 2017 Nepalese general election. Presently, its the fifth largest party in Bagmati provincial assembly. Background It was originally founded on 26 July 2017 from the merger of Sajha Party and Bibeksheel Nepal Dal, but the party split on 11 January 2019. The two parties merged for a second time on 9 December 2020. Recently, Bibeksheel Sajha Party has adopted Rabindra Mishra's document 'Changing Course: Nation Above Notion' that proposes abolition of federalism and a plebiscite on secularism. 2017 Nepalese Provincial Elections
Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 26 November and 7 December 2017 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven newly created provincial assemblies were elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation. The election was part of Nepal's transformation to a federal republic. Next Election will be held in 2022 unless dissolved earlier without completing the five years term. 2022 Nepalese provincial election will be the second election for provinces after completion of tenure of five years.
