Biagio Pelligra
Biagio Pelligra (born 24 June 1937, in Comiso) is an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born in Comiso, Province of Ragusa, Pelligra started his acting career in the second half of the sixties, and after several minor roles he got his first role of weight in 1972, in Marco Leto's ''Black Holiday''. Following the critical success of the film, from then he started appearing, often in secondary roles, in several art films, working with Roberto Rossellini, Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Marco Tullio Giordana and Peter Del Monte, among others. Pelligra's popularity is however mainly linked to a series of poliziotteschi, sceneggiate and mafia films, in which he specialized in roles of criminals and villains. Comiso
Comiso ( scn, U Còmisu), is a comune of the Province of Ragusa, Sicily, southern Italy. As of 2017, its population was 29,857. History In the past Comiso has been incorrectly identified with the ancient Greek colony of Casmene. Under the Byzantines a new borough began to grow on Comiso's present site around the monasteries of St. Nicolò and Saint Blaise, expanding further under the later Norman and Aragonese domination of Sicily. It was later a fief of the Chiaromonte, Cabrera and Naselli families: the latter, counts of the city from 1571, boosted the economy of the city and built new district outside the ancient walls. Comiso was devastated by the 1693 earthquake and rebuilt on the same spot as the old ruins in the Sicilian Baroque style. Plot Francesco Improta is an honest fruit and vegetable peddler who lives with his elderly mother Assunta and daughter Fiorella. His wife Lucia left home two years earlier, as, in order to help the family, she did not hesitate to give herself to the boss Peppino Ascalone, with whom she is now forced to live together. Francesco decides to welcome his wife back to get her away from her lover: he telephones her, but the communication is interrupted by Peppino, who is accused by Lucia of the disdain for the state she is in because of him. ''Zappatore'' is an Italian drama film directed by Alfonso Brescia and starring Mario Merola. The film was released in Italy on 5 December 1980. It is the "cine-scripted" which received the highest grossing theaters, ranking the 60th place of the most successful films in Italy in the 1980/81 season. The film is loosely based on the eponymous song, written by Libero Bovio and Albano. Story Francesco Esposito and his wife Madeleine are two farmers who raised Mario, their only child, with love and dedication. To finance his education, they became indebted to a lender.
