Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad
Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, a Kolkata-based literary organization was founded on 1975 by Sitaram Seksaria and Bhagirat H Kanodia with the aim of promoting Indian languages. It works for the development of Indian literature through publication of books on literature and implementation of various literary projects. It honors Indian writers for the contribution to Indian literature through their respective languages. The award consists of cash prize 1 lakh, a memento and a shawl. Shakespeare Sarani
Shakespeare Sarani (earlier Theatre Road) is a street running in the central business district of Kolkata, India, from Park Circus to Chowringhee Road (Birla Planetarium). It was renamed on 24 April 1964 after William Shakespeare, to mark the fourth birth centenary of the legendary playwright. It is considered to be a high street of Kolkata with many commercial establishments, offices, shops and restaurants situated by the road. It intersects with other important roads in the CBD like Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road, Camac Street, Loudon Street and Rawdon Street. Few other roads like, Little Russel Street, Wood Street, Picasso Bithi & Lord Sinha Road criss-crosses or merge into Shakespeare Sarani from North or South. Nilmani Phukan
Nilmoni Phukan ( as, নীলমণি ফুকন; 1880–1978) was an Assamese writer, poet, freedom fighter and politician popularly known as ''Bagmibor'' ( as, বাগ্মীবৰ) in the Assamese literature. Since he shares his name with another Assamese poet, Nilmani Phukan, he is often referred as Nilmoni Phukan (Senior). Phukan was the president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha for two times; in 1944 held at Sivasagar district and in 1947 held at Dibrugarh district of Assam. Early life and education Phukan was born on 22 June 1880 at Dibrugarh district, Assam. He was the son of Lombodhar Phukan. After his early education at George's Institution, Dibrugarh and Cotton College, Guwahati, he passed the B.A. examination from Victoria College at Cooch Bihar (as a graduating student of the University of Calcutta), in 1907. Nabaneeta Dev Sen ( bn, নবনীতা দেব সেন, Nôbonita Deb Sen; 13 January 1938 – 7 November 2019) was an Indian writer and academic. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film ''Nizhalgal'', an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist. Ashokamitran (22 September 1931 – 23 March 2017) was the pen name of Jagadisa Thyagarajan, an Indian writer regarded as one of the most influential figures in post-independent Tamil literature. He began his prolific literary career with the prize-winning play "Anbin Parisu" and went on to author more than two hundred short stories, and a dozen novellas and novels. A distinguished essayist and critic, he was the editor of the literary journal "Kanaiyaazhi". He has written over 200 short stories, nine novels, and some 15 novellas besides other prose writings. Lakshmi Nandan Bora (15 June 1932 – 3 June 2021) was an Indian novelist and short story writer in the Assamese language, known for over 60 books he has authored, including award winning novels, ''Patal Bhairavi'' and ''Kayakalpa''. A recipient of Sahitya Academy Award and Saraswati Samman, Bora was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. Surjit Patar is a Punjabi language writer and poet of Punjab, India. His poems enjoy immense popularity with the general public and have won high acclaim from critics. Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo (22 December 1926 – 25 June 2016), surname also spelt Sahu, was an Indian Odia language short story writer. He received several literary awards over his career, including the 1979 Odisha Sahitya Academy Award for ''Akasha Patala'', and the 1983 Sarala Award and the 1984 Sahitya Akademi Award in Odia, for ''Abhisapta Gandharba''.
