Bharathi Women's College
Bharathi Women's College, is a women's general degree college located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1964. The college is affiliated with the University of Madras. This college offers courses in arts, commerce and science. History During the centenary celebration of Tamil poet Subramania Bharathi in 1981 and 1982 this college was renamed Bharathi Women's College. Today the college has more than 4000 students and over 180 faculty members serving in 13 departments. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education (India), Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The Framework was approved by the MHRD and launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015. Depending on their areas of operation, institutions have been ranked under 11 different categories – overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental and research. The Framework uses several parameters for ranking purposes like resources, research, and stakeholder perception. Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) (Hindi for "National Higher Education Mission") is a holistic scheme of development for higher education in India initiated in 2013 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
