Bezirksliga Main-Hessen
The Bezirksliga Main-Hessen was the highest association football league in the German state of Hesse and the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau from 1927 to 1933. The league was disbanded with the rise of the Nazis to power in 1933. Overview The league was formed in 1927, from the clubs of the '' Bezirksliga Main'' and the clubs of the north-eastern part of the ''Bezirksliga Rheinhessen-Saar''. The clubs from the ''Bezirksliga Rheinhessen-Saar'' which did not become part of the new league were added to the new ''Bezirksliga Rhein-Saar'' instead. With the Viktoria Aschaffenburg, the league also included one club from Bavaria. The league operated from the start in two regional divisions, the ''Main-division'', named after the river Main and the ''Hessen-division'', named after the region of Hesse. Kickers Offenbach
Offenbacher Kickers, also known as Kickers Offenbach, is a German association football club in Offenbach am Main, Hesse. The club was founded on 27 May 1901 in the Rheinischer Hof restaurant by footballers who had left established local clubs including ''Melitia'', ''Teutonia'', ''Viktoria'', ''Germania'' and ''Neptun''. From 1921 to 1925 they were united with ''VfB 1900 Offenbach'' as ''VfR Kickers Offenbach'' until resuming their status as a separate side, ''Offenbacher FC Kickers''. Viktoria Aschaffenburg
SV Viktoria 01 Aschaffenburg is a German football club based in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. Even though Aschaffenburg is located in Bavaria, Viktoria Aschaffenburg historically played its football in the Hessenliga (V) and the associated Hessian leagues, rather than the Bayernliga (V), against clubs from closer, neighbouring cities. This also reflects in part the history of the region, not traditionally part of Bavaria. The nearby Bavarian club FC Bayern Alzenau has also played in the Hessenliga for the same reasons. FC Hanau 93 is a German association football club based in Hanau, Hesse. History Early history Founded in 1893, the club is Hesse's oldest. In its first year, the club was winless in a half dozen matches, but the next season emerged as south German champion and earned an appearance in a national championship match. Hanau was one of the founding clubs of the German Football Association formed in 1900. In those early days of German football Hanau laid a 23–1 drubbing on a hopelessly green Kickers Offenbach side. The club managed a series of unsuccessful appearances in the local league final between 1902 and 1905 and were "robbed" of a title through bureaucratic machinations in 1907, before finally taking the local title in 1909. The association was founded on 11 November 1901 as FV Amicitia 1901 Bockenheim in what is today the city district of Bockenheim. The Gauliga Hessen was the highest football league in the German state of Hesse and the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau from 1933 to 1945. From 1941, it was renamed Gauliga Kurhessen. Shortly after the formation of the league, the Nazis reorganised the administrative regions in Germany, and the '' Gau'' '' Electoral Hesse'' replaced the Prussian province and the Peoples State. Overview The league was introduced by the Nazi Sports Office in 1933, after the Nazi take over of power in Germany and Baden. It replaced the ''Bezirksliga'' as the highest level of play in German football competitions. The ''Gauliga Hessen'' was established with ten clubs, all from the region of Hesse. Hanau
Hanau () is a town in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is located 25 km east of Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main and is part of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main, Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region.
