Beverly Knight
Beverley Knight (born Beverley Anne Smith, 22 March 1973) is an English recording artist and musical theatre actress. She released her first album, '' The B-Funk'', in 1995. Heavily influenced by American soul music icons such as Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin, Knight has released eight studio albums. Widely labelled as one of Britain's greatest soul singers, Knight is best known for her hit singles " Greatest Day", " Get Up!", "Shoulda Woulda Coulda", and " Come as You Are". In 2006, Knight solidified her transition into the mainstream by starring in the BBC music TV series ''Just the Two of Us'', a role she reprised in 2007. Tenitra Michelle Williams (born July 23, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. The Doctor of Music degree (D.Mus., D.M., Mus.D. or occasionally Mus.Doc.) is a higher doctorate awarded on the basis of a substantial portfolio of compositions and/or scholarly publications on music. Like other higher doctorates, it is granted by universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and some Commonwealth countries. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. "Gold" was the third single released from Beverley Knight's studio album, '' Who I Am''. The song, which peaked at #27 in Britain, was different from the album version - which was produced by Mike Spencer, and is a big favourite amongst fans. The accompanying video was directed by Adrian Moat. Knight promoted the song by performing the song on ''Top of the Pops'' and sister show '' Top of the Pops Saturday''. It occupies of high ground in north-west Inner London, administratively split between the City of Westminster and the Borough of Camden (and historically between Marylebone and Saint Pancras parishes).
