Bethany Sarah Whitmore (born 7 December 1999) is an Australian actress, who started her professional acting career starring as Jaden Kagan in the US TV mini-series '' The Starter Wife''. Bethany is also known for her lead voice role of 8-year-old Mary Daisy Dinkle in Adam Elliot's ''Mary and Max'' (2009), Jane Moochmore in PJ Hogan's '' Mental'' (2012), Greta Driscoll in '' Girl Asleep'' (2015), Melissa in ''The Family Law'' (2016–19) and Blanche Gifford in the TV series remake of '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'' (2017). Bethany was also a finalist for the 10th anniversary Heath Ledger Scholarship in 2018. Personal life Whitmore was born in Melbourne, Australia. Since childhood, she has pursued an acting career. At age 6, she starred in ''The Starter Wife''. She studied drama at RADA, NIDA, St Martins Youth Theatre, & 16th Street. ''Rush'' is an Australian television police drama that first screened on Network Ten in September 2008. Set in Melbourne, Victoria, it focuses on the members of a Police Tactical Response team. It is produced by John Edwards and Mimi Butler for Endemol Australia, which was branded as the Southern Star Group during production of the series. In late October 2011, text phrasing on the cover art of Entertainment One's DVD release of the fourth series first indicated ''Rush'' would not return for another series, meaning series four would be its last. Australians in Film (AiF) is a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that serves the Australian community working in the film and television industry. It awards the annual Heath Ledger Scholarship to emerging Australian actors, as well as several other programs which help actors and filmmakers to develop their careers. History Australians in Film was founded in Los Angeles, California, in May 2001, to celebrate and support Australian film and TV makers and their work.
