Bernardus Joannes Caldenhove (19 January 1914 – 30 July 1983) was a Dutch association football, football Defender (association football), defender who played for the Netherlands national football team, Netherlands in the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Amsterdamsche Football Club Door Wilskracht Sterk ( en, Amsterdam Football Club Strong Through Willpower), also referred to as AFC DWS, Door Wilskracht Sterk or simply DWS, is a Dutch football club from Amsterdam, currently competing in the Tweede Klasse ( en, Second Class), the sixth tier of amateur football in the Netherlands. The 1938 FIFA World Cup was the third edition of the World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams and was held in France from 4 June until 19 June 1938. Italy defended its title in the final, beating Hungary 4–2. Italy's 1934 and 1938 teams hold the distinction of being the only men's national team to win the World Cup multiple times under the same coach, Vittorio Pozzo.
