Moisés Santiago Bertoni
Mosè Giacomo Bertoni (15 June 1857 – 19 September 1929), known in Spanish as Moisés Santiago Bertoni, was an Italian-speaking Swiss naturalist. He emigrated to South America in 1884 and lived in Paraguay from 1887 until he died in 1929. Bertoni work and researched in botany, meteorology, and anthropology. He discovered and classified many new species of plants and left a collection of more than 7000 vegetal species and about 6500 insects. One of the plants he studied in depth was ''ka'a he'ê'' (''Stevia rebaudiana''), a herb indigenous to Paraguay, which became important as a non-caloric sweetener, reputed to be 300 times sweeter than sugar. He also scientifically classified yerba mate (''Ilex paraguariensis''). Luca Bertoni (born 19 June 1992) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Pro Patria. Club career Bertoni started his football career at Milan, playing in their youth team. Gaspare Luigi Bertoni (9 October 1777 – 12 June 1853) was an Italian people, Italian Roman Catholic Church, Roman Catholic priest and the founder of the Stigmatines, Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata, also known as the Stigmatines. Life Gaspar Bertoni was born in Verona on 9 October 1777 to Francesco Bertoni (whose profession was the law) and Brunora Ravelli. His sister died when he was still a child. Bertoni received his initial education from his parents. Bertoni later studied under the Jesuits and the Marian Congregation at Saint Sebastian's School in his hometown of Verona. Ferdinando Bertoni
Ferdinando Bertoni (15 August 1725 – 1 December 1813) was an Italian composer and organist. Early years He was born in Salò, and began his music studies in Brescia, not far from his birthplace. Around 1740 he went to Bologna, where he studied until 1745 with the famous music theorist Giovanni Battista Martini. Career Then he moved to Venice, where in 1752 he was appointed as first organist at San Marco. From 1755 to 1777 he was choirmaster at the Ospedale dei Mendicanti, also in Venice. In the period 1778–1783 he was in London, where he composed operas for the King's Theatre. Back to Venice in 1784, he succeeded Baldassare Galuppi in 1785 as Kapellmeister of San Marco and preserved this position until his retirement in 1808. Daniel Bertoni
Ricardo Daniel Bertoni (born 14 March 1955) is an Argentine former footballer who played as a right or left winger. In Argentina, he had a successful career at Club Atlético Independiente, where he won three Copa Libertadores, one Intercontinental Cup and three Copa Interamericana throphies. Bertoni was also capped for the Argentina national team, where he scored the 3rd goal for the team. He won the 1978 FIFA World Cup. After his retirement, he worked as manager and sports commentator. Andrea Bertoni
Andrea Bertoni (1454 - 25 May 1483) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest and a professed member of the Servite Order. Bertoni assumed the religious name of "Giacomo Filippo" upon being admitted to the Servites and he became the procurator of the convent he lived in from his appointment until his death. The approval of the late priest's "cultus" (or popular devotion) on 22 July 1761 acted as Pope Clement XIII's conferral of beatification upon the late priest while the town of Faenza - where Bertoni hailed from - appointed him as its patron in 1762. Arnoldo de Winkelried Bertoni (December 28, 1878 – August 1973), also known as Arnaldo da Winkelried, was a Paraguayan zoologist born in Switzerland. Biography He was better known as Arnaldo de Winkelried, his name given in honor of the Swiss soldier Arnold von Winkelried who died at the Battle of Sempach in 1386. In 1887, he emigrated to Paraguay along with his family. He first began studying zoology with his father, the naturalist Moisés Santiago Bertoni in the neighborhood of Guillermo Tell, now called Puerto Bertoni in the Alto Paraná Department of Paraguay, along the Paraná River. Sergio Bertoni (; 23 September 1915 – 15 February 1995) was an Italian association football manager and player, who played as a striker. With the Italy national team, he won the 1936 Summer Olympics football tournament and the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Club career Born in Pisa, Bertoni played for Pisa Calcio (1935–1938) and Genoa C.F.C.
