Bertil Tunje
Bertil Tunje (born 1941) from Borås Sweden, was the vice-chairman of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. He joined as a member of the World Scout Committee 1985 and was elected as Vice-chairman 1990 and served as that until 1996. He was a member of the Steering Committee of the World Scout Committee 1985 to 1996. Tunje served as a member of the WOSM/WAGGGS Consultative Committee 1985–1995, World Programme Committee 1985–1990. He was the chairman of the Educational Methods Group 1990-1996 and he was the chairman Strategy Task Force 1996–1999. Tunje joined the scout troop Borås IV Kolonn/Sjömarkens Sjöscoutkår in 1948. Borås
Borås ( , , ) is a city (officially, a locality) and the seat of Borås Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 66,273 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Borås is located at the point of two crossing railways, among them the railway between Gothenburg and Kalmar, and is often considered the Swedish city gaining the most from the nationwide railway system laid between 1870 and 1910. Svenska Scoutrådet (''The Swedish Guide and Scout Council'', SSR) was until 2012 the national Scouting and Guiding federation of Sweden. Scouting and Guiding in Sweden is represented by one organisation Scouterna as a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It was formed in 2012 as the successor to Svenska Scoutrådet (''The Swedish Guide and Scout Council'', SSR) which consisted of five different associations. 9th World Scout Jamboree
The 9th World Scout Jamboree, also known as the Jubilee Jamboree, was held at Sutton Park, Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England, for twelve days during August, 1957. The Jamboree marked dual milestones as it was both the 50th anniversary of the Scouting movement since its inception at Brownsea Island and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Scouting's founder Robert Baden-Powell. World Scout Jamboree
The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17. The first World Scout Jamboree was organized by The Boy Scout Association in London. With exceptions for the World War years and the Iranian Revolution, it has been organized approximately every four years, and in the more recent years has been organised by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), in different locations over the world. World Scout Moot
The World Scout Moot is an event for senior branches of Scouting (traditionally called Rover Scout, Rovers) and other young adult Scouts, gathering up to 5,000 people. Moots provide an opportunity for young adults in Scouting to meet, with the objective of improving their international understanding as citizens of the world. Moots are held every four years and are organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). Participants must be 18–25 years old at the time of the event. Scouts who are 26 or older can take part as International Service Team (IST) volunteer staff. The Gustaf Adolf märket is, after the Silvervargen ( Silver Wolf), the highest award in Scouterna (the Swedish Scout movement). It has been awarded by Swedish Scouting since 1947. Background The Gustaf Adolf märket was created in 1947 in memory of Prince Gustaf Adolf, the prince was heavily involved in the scout movement and from 1930 to his death 1947 chairman of the Swedish Scout Union. Today, the award is awarded to "active leaders for particularly meritorious contributions to the Swedish Scout movement at least at district level. The principles for the medal were in 1947 drawn up by the Prince's widow Princess Sibylla.
